Last night, MTV2 debuted its new Hollywood Squares meets Hip-Hop gameshow called Hip Hop Squares. With Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg serving as the host, the artists holding down the squares included Fat Joe, Ghostface Killah, Mac Miller, Machine Gun Kelly, Donald Glover and Ashy Larry.

Watch some of your favorite Hip-Hop personalities answer random questions throughout the entire premiere episode of Hip Hop Squares below. WTF was up with Machine Gun Kelly, though?

There is no doubt to ~~some~~ most that if Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace were alive today, his crisp baritone flow would still be intact and potent as ever. In honor of Biggie's 40^th birthday today, Hip-Hop Wired has compiled a list of so-called “old fogies” age 40 and over in the young man's sport of Hip-Hop that still smash microphones on the regular.

You young whipper snapper rappers will be blessed to get a fraction of their longevity. Here are 10 rappers in the 40 and over club that still got the glow*.

10 Dope Rap Acts Who Could Not Top Their Freshman Albums

It's hard to top a classic album, even if that classic was the artist's debut. It almost seems like a given that, as time progresses, an artist would get better at their craft and be able to put out better and better material. However, for whatever reason, that is rarely the case.

Even with some of the rap game's most heralded artists: just ask Nas, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and several other rappers who have yet to surpass the critical acclaim they received on albums they dropped when they were still wet behind the ears in the game. Record sales aside, here are 10 exceptional rap acts who tried and tried, but couldn't top the magic of their first LPs.

MTV2 Prepping Hip-Hop Version Of Hollywood Squares Called Hip-Hop Squares

MTV2 is in the process of revamping the popular game show Hollywood Squares, with a little twist. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show, that originally had a nearly five decade run on NBC, will be renamed Hip-Hop Squares and feature the likes of Ghostface Killah, Fat Joe, Mac Miller, DJ Khaled, Nick Cannon, Biz Markie, Machine Gun Kelly and more as the panelist trying to figure out trivia questions.

MTV2's programming chief Paul Ricci thinks the hip cast members of the new incarnation will play a large role in resurrecting the once beloved television program. “They cross the spectrum from musicians and celebrities to athletes and causal fans of hip hop,” said Paul Ricci. “The show will refresh an iconic format and create a fun, dynamic series that's unpredictable, heavy on personality and much more ‘party' than ‘game show.'”

The original Hollywood Squares aired off and on from 1966-2004. In the game, two contestants judge whether or not a panel of nine celebrities – who are sitting in the shape of a tic-tac-toe board – are answering trivia questions correctly. The contestants must strategically pick which celeb to answer the question and need to get three in a row in order to win.

MTV2 will air 10 episodes of Hip-Hop Squares on Tuesdays, beginning on May 22 at 11 p.m.

They swap classic instrumentals of their respective groups; as Sheek kicks a few bars over Wu-Tang Clan's "Ain't Nothin' to F**k Wit" and Ghost tries his hand at the L.O.X.'s "Recognize." It sounds like the much anticipated Wu-Block could be a reality.

As Hip-Hop continues to grow and expand it's reach beyond music, it seems as if more and more rappers are adding the title "author" to their resumes.

Just this week Common released his book, One Day It'll All Make Sense, adding to a list of rappers like Jay-Z, Malice, T.I. and Nas, who have either released books or signed book deals in the last 12 months.
