			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Prolific wordsmith and Hip-Hop icon KRS-One is giving students in the nation's capital a chance to witness the Hip-Hop icon in person.</p>
<p>Knowledge Reigns Supreme will take to D.C.'s Trinity College for their fifth annual International Hip-Hop festival.</p>
<p>Regarded as the largest festival of its kind in the United States, The Teacha will headline after acts from the around the world including<span id="more-32596"></span> The reMINDers, Nomadic Massive, Anita Tijoux,  DAM, Shokanti , Wagëblë  and Flex Matthews.<br />
Attendees will also be able to witness the "Global Moves: Social Change Through Hip-Hop” academic panel, the “Hip Hop and Poetry Saved My Life”  youth oriented workshops and the Sundance Festival-nominated film, “Slingshot Hip Hop”, which will be screened with a panel discussion to follow.</p>
<p>There will also be a local graffiti artist contest and B-Boy competition with a $1500 prize.</p>
<p>Trinity College is home to the first student branch of the Temple of Hip Hop, KRS-One's national organization created to maintain and promote hip hop as a genuine political movement and culture.</p>
<p>The movement was created on the Trinity campus in the spirit of the mission of the festival; to encourage DJs and emcees to teach people about the culture of Hip, to write more socially conscious songs, and to encourage radio stations to play more socially conscious music.</p>
<p>Past performers have included K'Naan, Blitz the Ambassador, Comrade Fatso and Les Nubians.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>California's Paid Dues Festival is an even uniting various mainstream and underground acts in Hip-Hop. For the 2010 version of the annual event three heavyweights have been added to the lineup; Raekwon, Jay Electronica and Ice Cube.</p>
<p>Kwon and Jay Elect will join the Hip-Hop veteran at this year's fest when it takes place this spring at San Bernadino's  Nos Events Center.</p>
<p>While Jay and Cube have signed on to give solo performances Raekwon has opted to be joined on stage by <span id="more-26679"></span>Tech N9Ne.</p>
<p>Following Kwon and Tech N9Ne on stage will be Daz Dillinger and Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound right before Jay Electronica hits the stage.</p>
<p>Also slated to perform is Murs who'll be joined by super producer Ninth Wonder, Dom Kennedy, Curren$y, Freeway &amp; Jake One and Dilated Peoples.</p>
<p>Hosted by Angela Yee and DJ Wonder, 2010's Paid Dues Festival takes place April 3.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Atlanta is abuzz this weekend with the booming AC3 Hip-Hop Festival. The fest brings out some of the most eclectic artists from across the country to showcase their talent in producing, rhyming and battling. Hallmarked in Atlanta, this year the event is taking over the East Atlanta Village. The two day, three night fest incorporates live performances from some of Hip Hop's most elite artists, in the past featuring the likes of  <span id="more-11447"></span>Wale, Little Brother, The Juice Crew, Biz Markie and The Clipse. There are live performances during the day as well as break dancing, fashion, film and Hip-Hop panels. The 2008 fest brought together over 9,000 people and featured events sponsored by MySpace, Red Bull, Scion, URB, Pabst Blue Ribbon, New Era and Stanton.</p>
<p>The AC3 Festival kicked off Thursday and runs till late Saturday, October 3. According to <a href="http://www.ac3festival.com">AC3Festival.com</a> the events are as follows:</p>
<p>Friday, Oct. 2: Duck Down Record Showcase at the Ice House, Women in Hip Hop at My Sisters Room, Interdependent Media &amp; Mello Music Group at the Ice House, I Wear the Crown at the 529, Syntax &amp; Embedded Showcase at the 529 and the Grammy U Panel &amp; Mixer at the Graveyard. Artists performing on Friday include Kidz in the Hall, Bisc 1, Lee Harvey Oswald, Tiye Phoenix and Jake One amongst others.</p>
<p>Saturday, Oct. 3: The Release at the Ice House, Speakeasy Showcase at the 529, Savannah &amp; Jacksonville Showcase at the 529, Tru Skool Daze at the Ice House, Afternoon Delight at the 529, ASCAP Producer Panel at the Graveyard, IndieHitMaker Panel at My Sisters Room and live mural painting at the Eastside Lounge. Saturday's artists feature Rakim, Killer Mike, People Under the Stairs, Clan Destined, Vonnegut, Hollyweerd, Psyche Origami and many more.</p>
