Jasmine Marks and her family were dining at the La Fisherman restaurant, and were unhappy with what they claim was bad service. Rather than covering the mandatory tip amount for parties of five or more, the group attempted to leave and were stopped by a worker before reaching the door. “She was like, 'You have an unsettled bill and ya'll can't leave until you pay it,'" Marks said. "We paid our bill for what we ate, we paid the bill." Unhappy with their reasoning, the employee contacted the local police. "She said, 'That's fine. If you don't want to pay the gratuity we have HPD outside.'I asked the police officer twice, maybe three times, is it against the law if we don't pay the gratuity and he never gave me a straight answer."

While this isn't the first time that the eatery has had to call on the law over a billing issues, luckily, these diners were spared the further embarrassment of getting arrested. Not covering their tabs puts them in the company of a pretty elite bunch, including the likes of Wyclef Jean who was sued for not paying Jacob the Jeweler more than $300,000, and Nas who owes the IRS $6 million.  Since their final tally didn't come close to of the aforementioned MCs, between the five of them they could've probably pooled their money to cover the tip.

In accordance with the original motivation behind their discrepancies, protestors in Manhattan tore through Midtown passing by banks, and corporate offices chanting “we are the 99 Percent,” and “banks got bailed out, we got sold out."

Unfortunately their act of civil disobedience wasn't met with a positive reaction. Construction workers in their path responded to the incantations with “Get-a-job! Get-a-job!” and “Stop wasting the cops' time!” Other demonstrations are taking place in large cities including, San Francisco, Houston, and Chicago. Footage and updates from the day-long event are posted and live-streamed via Occupywallstreet.org.

Since its inception last year, many in the Hip-Hop world have gotten behind the movement. Russell Simmons, offered to pay to clean-up the Lower Manhattan area inhabited by protesters, and Jay-Z's Rocawear label released "Occupy All Streets" shirts.

The three men were found guilty on grounds that they violated the Matthew Shepard Act and the James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, both of which were signed into law by Pres. Obama in 2009. "Today's convictions...show that hate crimes are far too common in this country," said Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division, Thomas E. Perez. "The department will continue to use every available tool to identify and prosecute hate crimes whenever and wherever they occur."

A jury concluded that the men, who were known to have affiliations with racist groups, approached 29-year-old Johnson, using racial slurs, before surrounding him. They then began punching and kicking the victim in the head and body "I couldn't believe this was happening, and I thought I could be dying especially when they had me on the ground," Johnson said. "I knew it still happened, but right here in my own back yard? Not really." After a witness placed a call to 911, all the suspects were arrested at the scene. A fourth man, Joseph Staggs, was also taken into custody, but charges were dropped after he testified against his cohorts.

The three men were indicted on the charges back in January, following an extensive investigation held by the FBI and Houston police. Each of the men are facing the maximum of 10 years behind  bars, and are scheduled to be sentenced July 16.

“The artist has suffered a medical emergency and has been ordered by his doctors not [sic] travel,” said the statement from the promoters Hits and Jams Entertainment. According to AllHipHop, Ross was ordered not to fly by medical staff after suffering the seizure.

It isn't known which day that Ross suffered the seizure episode but his reps say there will be a concert in Guyana at a later time. Houston fans anticipating seeing the heavyweight rhyme slinger will not have the same privilege of a rescheduling, according to the report.

Rick Ross suffered back-to-back seizures last October while boarding flights to make concert dates in Memphis and Alabama. After a brief hiatus, Rozay went back to his heavy tour grind and recording shortly after. Ross has yet to come forward about his health concerns and a quick look at his Twitter account reveals little. In fact, Rozay tweeted over an hour ago saying he spoke with slain teen Trayvon Martin's father.

Hump, 52, was apprehended by authorities last December following a drug investigation that allegedly exposed the Texan as a player in a long-term drug network. According to Federal prosecutors, this network regularly distributed hundreds of kilos of that white powder during a 15-year span, dating back to 1995. Several other people were arrested and charged in connection with the network. Authorities claim Hobbs would receive and house large quantities of coke for the organization, which operated out of Mexico, Chicago, Mississippi and Houston.

On Monday (March 26), Hobbs plead guilty and now faces at least 10 years without the possibility of parole.

Sucka Free Record is the independent Houston Hip-Hop label known for putting H-Town rapper Lil Flip on the map. The label distributed both of Flip's platinum LP's including 2002's Underground Legend and the '04 follow-up, U Gotta Feel Me.

Hump is also known for discrediting Flip's character on T.I.'s 2004 mixtape Down With The King after the former boss and worker had a falling out. On three interludes for the mixtape, Hump degraded Flip's G pass, and re-counted situations where Flip would get beat up at school and telling how he would have to “snatch” the assailant and “bring them to the house” in order for The Leprechaun to fight back.

Houston Grandmother Serving Lean

A 70-year-old Houston woman has been charged with being the mastermind behind a $10 million codeine cartel, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Authorities claim that, Licita Uy, originally from the Phillipines, raked in nine figures using her own rogue pharmacies to obtain close to 100,000 pints of the prescription strength cough medicine commonly known on the streets as “syrup” or “lean.”

The DEA alleges that Uy purchased three California pharmacies then obtained a DEA registration number to legally purchase the drug from legit dealers. She then had the drug transported to the Houston area where it was sold for $300-$600 a pint to street dealers.

Uy and her son are accused of money laundering and conspiracy.

This isnt Uy's first run in with the law, she served 20 months in federal prison 10 years ago for money laundering.
