Three former California jail guards in Santa Clara County have been charged with murder for the fatal beating of a mentally ill inmate last month. The suspects, Matthew Farris, Jereh Lubrin and Rafael Rodriguez, were arraigned in court Tuesday (Sept. 8), after being arrested last week.

President Barack Obama made a historic trip to a federal prison Thursday (July 15), becoming the first sitting president in history to do so. The visit to Oklahoma’s El Reno prison is all a part of the president’s push for a reform of the criminal justice system.

The NYPD is doing its part to clear the wrongfully accused via a $1.25 million grant which will help those unlawfully convicted of crimes. The police unit announced Monday (Sept. 23), that the Innocence Project would spearhead the fight to exonerate inmates and ex-cons found innocent of wrongdoing, by collecting evidence for their cases.
