Vernon Coleman II http://hiphopwired.com/?p=149085 Jay-Z and Nas, Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel, even T.I. and Luda; some rap beefs make you beg for more confrontation just so you can hear two rappers verbally assaulting each other with their fire-spitting best. Then there are those beefs where people hope the dueling rappers just shoot the five and spare us the lyrical back-and-forth on wax. There have been plenty. Some took it to that level, but [thanks be to the rap Gods] others didn't even bother, presumably knowing that not a single f-ck would be given by the general public.

Here are 10 rap beefs that Hip-Hop purists were hoping would end before the diss tracks started…

Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow and Da Brat performed in front of a packed crowd at Atlanta radio station V103's car and bike show this past weekend.

The performance marked Da Brat's first live performance since being released from prison in March.

Nearly 30,000 watched as Brat joined Dem Franchize Boyz to perform "Oh I Think They Like Me" and her classic "Give It To You."

Jermaine Dupri and Mariah Carey releasing new song for charity

Jermaine Dupri announced today that he and Mariah Carey will lead an effort to produce a musical collaboration encouraging people to step forward and commit to action to strengthen and improve our nation and the world.

The inspiration for the song comes from Points of Light Institute, the largest enabler of voluntary action in the nation, an organization that inspires, equips and mobilizes people to take action that changes the world.

According to Dupri, music is a powerful vehicle to bring about togetherness and understanding, with an ability to reach people in ways that words alone cannot.  

"There's a lot happening in the world right now. We hope to create something special with other great musicians that moves people and can make them understand they CAN do something positive to make their lives and the world better."


The name of the song and the names of additional collaborators have yet to be released.

Dupri and Carey previously collaborated on her tracks “We Belong Together” and “Always Be My Baby.”

Brat is currently finishing the remainder of her three year prison sentence for assaulting a woman with bottle at JD's Studio 72 Club in Atlanta.

Now Brat says she's allowed to leave her Alto, Georgia prison cell to pursue a work release job making windows.

Uhhh… okay.

During a video blog posted by Jermaine Dupri of NBA All-Star Weekend, Shaq is admitting to making a big mistake with his little friend.

Shaq makes a cameo in the footage and admits that he lost $200,000 gambling with JD.

JD's vlog footage chronicles the whole event showing him making his rounds around the game before chopping it up with Shaq.

Most recently JD's been in the headlines for his work alongside his Ocean's 7 family member Nelly for Atlanta flood victims and for adding diversity to his portfolio by working with rock band Weezer.

Now however JD's name has been added to a growing list of celebrities going through tax woes.

The state of Georgia filed a tax lien against him Tuesday for $135, 749. That's just the beginning of his troubles however considering that the IRS filed a $3,095,004 lien against him in September.

According to his attorney James Kane, JD's currently working on getting the liens removed and told the Detroit News his client successfully made payments on the money past due.

“I can assist you in telling you that all of the taxes have been paid and my law firm has been, and is, in the process of getting the liens removed in normal course. As to any other information, you can certainly understand under the attorney-client privilege that I am not able make any further comment."


Riiiiiight.

Just recently JD and his incarcerated So So Def sister, Da Brat were sued by a woman who Brat assaulted at his Studio 72 club. No word on the amount asked for in that law suit.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. PAY YO BILLS PEOPLE!
