Leading anti-violence activist Erica Ford, Founder and CEO of LIFE Camp, has announced that January 15 - 22, 2012 marks the 3rd annual New York Peace Week, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King's efforts of non-violence.

Erica Ford and the NY Peace Week committee will hold its annual press conference at City Hall this Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 12:00 noon.

The goal of NY Peace Week is to create a culture of peace throughout New York City for seven days, featuring special events and a grassroots viral marketing campaign that encourages individuals to take personal action to create inner peace and set a positive example for NYC youth.

NY Peace Week ambassadors and supporters include Rush Card & Russell Simmons, Deepak Chopra, Reverend Al Sharpton, AT Michell of Man Up Inc., Tamika Mallory of National Action Network,  Hot 97, Power 105, Ed Lover, The Source Magazine owner Londell McMillan, Diggy Simmons, Mindless Behavior, Cheryl "Salt" Wray, Michael Strahan, Gotham/Hamptons magazine Publisher Debra Halpert, Maino, and more.

NY Peace Week will feature a series of events and activities that will address a range of violence and conflict-related issues that affect the social order of New York City communities, raise the urgent need to get guns off the street and engage communities in combating the culture of violence among our young people.

NY Peace Week also offers the people of NYC the chance to attend a series of events and activities to promote peace across the five boroughs, in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The theme of NY Peace Week 2012 is "Peace is a LIFEStyle." The campaign has incorporated orange as its signature color because orange represents enthusiasm, happiness, creativity, determination, success and encouragement.

Last year, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the City Council, Borough Presidents and the State Assembly and Senate gave proclamations to LIFE Camp, Inc., officially declaring January 15-22 Peace Week in New York City.

Love & Hip Hop co-stars Mama Jones (rapper Jim Jones' mother) and Olivia are going at it on Twitter. Mama Jones fired the first shots, and she seems to be beyond upset with Olivia for doing a brief imitation of her in the last episode.

Love & Hip Hop fans have watched the relationship between Jim Jones and Chrissy Lampkin progress over the past two seasons, and now the happy couple is discussing their engagement. In an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez, the twosome spoke about Jones finally "putting a ring on it," and whether or not they will rush to tie the knot. "We're going to figure it out. Let's do one thing at a time," Jones said when asked about locking down a wedding date.

Lampkin originally popped the question to the Dipset frontman at the end of the show's first season, but by season two she was ready for him to reciprocate. Now that they are both rocking engagement rings, the 42-year-old said that she's nervous to walk down the aisle. "I'm scared of the wedding," Lumpkin admitted. "A lot of planning and a lot of stuff I have to get together."

Once they hone in on a date, Jones revealed that the ceremony will be traditional. "I'm old school, we got to go to my grandmother church and do it there then after that we can get crazy," said Capo.

In light of their newfound popularity, Jones and Lampkin haven't ruled out the possibility of cashing in on the wedding by airing the ceremony on VH1, or any other network interested.
