Despite 50 Cent's well documented struggles and differences with his label, Interscope Records, he's still focused and very anxious to release new music.

"I'm not sure if I'll tour the world with my next album, as I've done before, because it makes my album cycle for 2 years," 50 told Forbes. "I'd like to launch this record, and then come right back and launch another record following it...It's been 3 years since my last album, so I've recorded so much material that I'm really excited about trying to get those ideas to the general public so they can get a chance to hear it and appreciate it."

However, Interscope has not been on the same page with 50, which would explain the barrage of criticism he's aimed in the label's direction. Right after the New Year, he went on a Twitter rant, where he voiced his displeasure and lack of faith in his label. Although he later apologized to Jimmy Iovine for his remarks, things didn't seem to be completely smoothed over with the leader of the Guerilla Unit. While at the CES Conference, 50 spoke a bit more on his label situation during an interview with Spike TV.

50 clearly still has plenty of pent up an creativity, as heard on his last mixtape, The Big 10. Fif said he planned to shoot a video for each record on the tape, and he hasn't disappointed thus far. In thr interview with Forbes, he spoke more on his label situation, and much more.

Beats By Dre headphones have become ubiquitous, whether in music videos or on the street. Despite its success, there is an impending shake up at the company. Business Week reports that Beats Electronics, co-owned by Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, has decided not to renew its five year contract with Monster Cable Products, which is up at the end of year.

It seems like the split, which both companies say was on good terms, is over who gets credit for Beats By Dre's success, with the latter seeking a bigger share of revenues. Monster will go forward with its own line of headphones, including models branded with Earth, Wind & Fire and Miles Davis. Beats still has ties with HTC smartphones, HP computers and audio systems in cars like the Chrysler 300.

“We have very big ambitions for Beats beyond headphones,” says Iovine. “Music has got to succeed on the phone or else the record industry will never thrive.”

50 Cent spoke with Spike TV live from the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The rapper/actor/entrepreneur was promoting his Sleek headphones and also mentioned some of his tribulations with Interscope Records.

As for why he started selling headphones, 50 told Spike, "It's an extension to my passion for music. 'Cause I spend more time in the studio actually mixing material, making sure that the sound quality is right than the actual creating the idea. The song writing process is faster for me than actually finishing the song, the mixing."

Fif went on to say that his were the best wireless headphones, going as far to say they're better than Dr. Dre's Beats By Dre wireless models. Although the "In The Club" rapper has dropped plenty of music to be heard on his headphones lately, such as The Big 10 mixtape, music via his Interscope Record label has been sporadic. When asked about his recent tweets about his career, first lambasting Interscope and then later apologizing to Jimmy Iovine, Fif expressed frustration.

"I wrote this album," he said. "I went through the process of writing it and it's been discouraging at points to not see the same effort from everyone."

50 Cent has employed his Twitter account many times to both drum up controversy and air out his frustrations. Today (January 2), the G-Unit general tweeted to his legion of followers that he may no longer  focus on music, and even predicted that he doesn't think he'll live much longer.

After squabbling with Interscope Records last year regarding his upcoming fifth studio, a New Year's Eve Twitter rant from 50 threatened more free releases, such as the recent Big 10 mixtape, if the album doesn't get the green light from label head Jimmy Iovine. “Ok I need a record deal jimmy iovine, call me early tomorrow or I'm putting out another mix tape,” tweeted 50 Cent on Saturday (December 31, 2011).

It appears 50 Cent didn't have that conversation with Iovine, tweeting this afternoon, “I have lost all the faith in the team I'm on. I having nothing left to say I will not be promoting my music.” He continued with a cryptic tweet, “Ill be honest I don't think I'm gonna live much longer. I want to mean more in other peoples lives.”

Today's 50 Cent outburst appears to be inspired by an unfinished leak of the Jeremih-assisted lead single “Girls Go Wild”– released ahead of schedule according to Fif. “Man interscope put out the single art saying its coming out on the 31st but its not coming out. I'm not putting my album out till we are all on the same page,” tweeted 50 last month.

The radio-friendly “Girls Go Wild” officially dropped earlier today, via MySpace, with an upcoming video helmed by director Colin Tilley awaiting a release.

Will 50 Cent stay true to his word or will he cave?

Dr. Dre unveiled the Holiday Collection of his Beats By Dre headphones yesterday (October 11) in New York City.

Flanked by Interscope chairman and business partner, Jimmy Iovine, Dre showed off the new line of his expensive ear speakers including wireless on-ear Bluetooth headphones and a portable iPod speaker dock.

Dr. Dre has inked yet another deal that will continue to take attention away from him ever releasing his Detox album.

According to reports, smartphone company HTC is investing $300 million into Dr. Dre and record producer Jimmy Iovine's Beats By Dre.

The Los Angeles Times reports:

The injection of money will give HTC one of the largest stakes in Beats, but the company will remain autonomous from HTC.

Beats also counts Monster Cable as an investor and will still work with other companies such as HP, providing speakers for laptops and tablets, and Chrysler, providing speakers for sedans, said Iovine, who is chairman of Beats and chief executive of Interscope records.

But HTC will have some smartphones with Beats audio included in stores by the end of the year, he said.

"Getting Beats audio into HTC phones is one of the first things we're going to do," Iovine said in an interview.

"We are going to be in business with HTC and they're going to help us and were going to help them in every way they can.

"And you'll see Beats audio in just about every phone or tablet they want it to be in, but they know what we've built and respect the brand and will help us continue to innovate and push Beats further."

With it's new investor, expect Beats By Dre to continue in its quest to be the leader in quality headphone and audio equipment, and in the process, make Dr. Dre even more richer than he already is...which basically means Detox is never coming out (as if it ever really was).

Co-Owner Of Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West's Management Company Named Chairman Of Geffen Records

Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman Jimmy Iovine announced today that artist manager and creative executive Gee Roberson has been appointed Chairman of Geffen Records.

Based in New York, Mr. Roberson will oversee the creative direction and operations of Geffen Records with a special focus on discovering and nurturing new artists while expanding the reach of the label into digital direct-to-consumer, merchandising, touring and management.

"Gee has a unique combination of talents that the music industry really needs running a record company today," said Mr. Iovine. "I'm proud he's joining Geffen."

 

Speaking on his new position, Roberson released a statement saying,

"I am delighted to be joining Jimmy, Lucian Grainge (Chairman & CEO, UMG) and the entire Interscope Geffen A&M team. Jimmy has always been a pioneer who goes against the grain and builds successful companies known for great music, a keen sense of focus, hard work and tremendous team spirit. And with the opportunity to be part of Lucian's global creative plans, the decision to join IGA was easy."

 

Roberson began his tenure in the music industry under the tutelage of Jay-Z at Roc-A-Fella Records, where he rose to Senior Vice President of A&R.

He later segued to Atlantic Records, where he served as Senior Vice President of A&R, heading up the famed label's urban music division.

While there, he was instrumental in the break-through success of T.I., among others.

Mr. Roberson serves as Co-CEO of HipHop Since 1978, a full service management company that features such chart-topping trendsetters as Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Young Jeezy.

Once again rapper and producer Dr. Dre is looking to cash in outside of the recording studio.

Yesterday, Chrysler Group and Beats By Dr. Dre announced a partnership that will bring the sound quality of Beats By Dr. Dre to the Chrysler automobile.

The 2012 Chrysler 300S will be equipped with the sound technology of the Beats headphones created by Dr. Dre and co-founder Jimmy Iovine, who worked alongside the Chrysler engineering team to design the 10-speaker audio system.

"Our partnership with the Chrysler Group will set the bar for the way music should be heard in cars," said Jimmy Iovine, who is also chairman of Interscope Geffen-A&M Records. "Beats By Dr. Dre has always been about restoring the emotional music connection between an artist and the listener, and Chrysler vehicles beginning with the Chrysler 300S will let drivers hear music the way the artists intended, replicating the feel and the sound that artists and producers work so hard to achieve."

The 2012 Chrysler 300S with Beats By Dr. Dre sound system will arrive at Chrysler dealerships nationwide in the fall of 2011.

Beats By Dr. Dre were first released in July 2008, and the brand has since successful expanded the line to Beats Studio, Diddy Beats by Sean Combs, Heartbeats by Lady Gaga, an in-ear headphone, Beats Tour, and more.

In addition, Dr. Dre began a partnership with HP laptops in 2010.

Dre's long-awaited album Detox is tentatively scheduled for a 2011 released.

However, with all the success Dr. Dre is having through business ventures, and album sales at an all-time low, why would the 46-year-old producer ever need to release another album?

Don't hold your breath waiting for Detox.

The ten-man band featuring standouts Tyler The Creator and Frank Ocean are said to be under the radar of Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, Jay-Z's Roc Nation, Steve Rifkind of SRC and Diddy's Bad Boy empire.

PageSix reports that Diddy recently met with Tyler The Creator who demanded that he set up a meeting between him and Justin Bieber.

A source tells Six that Diddy's “desperate to sign the group to prove that he's on to something hot.”

"Tyler asked Diddy for access to Justin, so he pulled strings. Tyler did meet with Justin, and Diddy helped make it happen,” the source said.

 

Steve Rifkind of SRC is reportedly ready to make the band a formal offer and previously met with The Creator who told him,

“If you are serious about the meeting, I want Randy's Donuts, swivel chairs and a megaphone."

No word yet on what Jay-Z and Iovine are willing to offer.

Harlem emcee Vado is reportedly joining the Interscope Records roster.

Cam'ron told Angie Martinez of Hot 97 FM that his protege signed the deal recently.

“Shout out to DJ and Jimmy Iovine at Interscope; we appreciate that. I'm really excited that he's getting the opportunity to do his thing on his own,” said Killa.

 

Vado's Slime Flu album got him major recognition last year and being cosigned by Cam'ron as the new voice of Lenox Avenue has solidified his New York presence.

The Harlemite supposedly turned down the XXL Magazine Freshman cover but it hasn't slowed down his buzz as his Gunz 'N' Butta CD with Cam'ron is due in stores on April 12th on E1 Entertainment.
