The man who is suspected of shooting Black teen Ralph Yarl has been identified and charged. Clay County Prosecutor Zachary Thompson announced the charges of assault and criminal action against Andrew Lester on Monday, as well as declaring that there is a warrant for his arrest. Protesters had decried the police releasing Lester after holding him in custody for 24 hours after the shooting.
A Black teen is in stable condition after being shot twice by a white homeowner after going to the wrong address. According to reports, Ralph Yarl sought to pick up his siblings last Thursday night. The homeowner was detained by police but released after 24 hours.
