Lil Wayne Stans For Kobe Bryant; Says He's "Greatest Ever" [VIDEO]

One of Hip-Hop's biggest sports fans (and front runners) Lil Wayne caught up with The Los Angeles Times and talked about his favorite player, Kobe Bryant. Although he frequents Miami Heat games, Lil Wayne says that the Los Angeles Lakers have been his favorite team since he started watching basketball. Moreover, he spoke on his appreciation for the franchise player, Kobe Bryant.

“He's inspired not only songs, but he's inspired me in life in general just the way he attacks things, the way he never backs down, the way he fights through injury,” Lil Wayne said.

“Not only do he fight through injury, and not only do he play through injury, he excel through injury. I take those type of things and I just apply them to my everyday life.” Wayne famously named a song after Kobe Bryant a little bit over two years ago, to "inspire him to chase another championship," which he did in 2010. Metta World Peace And 12 Of The Greatest Elbows Ever

The water cooler talk since yesterday has been Metta World Peace's regression back in to Ron-Ron from Queensbridge. Like Prodigy said, "my dun Ron-Ron Artest will teach y'all about wildin'" and the recently mild mannered World Peace had a little flashback to his days as a wildman in the NBA. Although in real time, the hit didn't look intentional it is pretty hard to be in the NBA without some excellent peripheral vision so he had to have seen poor Oklahoma City Thunder guard, James Harden.

Back in the day, elbows were just a part of the game and they would be called a flagrant foul and the game will continue. Now with the wussification of pro sports (yes, I said "wussification." I might trademark it) Metta World Peace might be looking at missing a few playoff games and a few fancy dinners after NBA commissioner David Stern gets finished with the repeat offender. Cam'Ron must have sat back watching this and said "n***a's get hit with elbows, every day b. You'll be aight, you tough, right?" And he would be correct. Elbows hurt, and we've seen plenty more infamous elbows in the past. Hip-Hop Wired gives you a look at just a few. Take a look down below.

Kobe Bryant catches the semi-fade from Dwyane Wade during the NBA-All Star game and the #KobeSystem ends up with a broken nose. Kobe must wear a protect mask, and all sorts of DOOM jokes ensue courtesy of basketball loving Hip-Hop heads
