As previously reported Wayne was arrested in 2008 in Yuma, Arizona after authorities searched his tour bus and found a loaded hand gun, marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.

He previously pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Now however Weezy's changing his tune and appeared on a live video feed to plead guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug.

His guilty plea is part of a plea deal with prosecutors that will drop the charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia against him.

Instead of jail time Weezy now faces 36 months probation.

He is scheduled to be released from Rikers Island in November.

Judgment day has finally come for Lil Wayne. The Young Money/Cash Money leader is scheduled to report to prison today for a gun possession charge.

As previously reported Wayne pleaded guilty to the charge in October stemming from a 2007 incident where New York police found a loaded hand gun on his tour bus.

Now he'll appear in a federal courtroom and could be sentenced to up to 1 year in New York's notorious Riker's Island prison.

He is expected to not serve his full sentence however and could be released in 8 months for good behavior.

Various members of his friends and family have expressed their sadness over his impending fate.

His ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Carter took to her Twitter page to express he feelings saying,

“Sad day for me and my fam   ……This is really a hard pill to swallow.”

Young Money President Mack Maine has taken to the social outlet as well and is trying to make his friend a “trending topic” with his “Pray For Weezy” posts while Nicki Minaj tearfully tells  MTV that she doesn't  believe he should have to go to jail.

“It's sad, because he doesn't deserve to go to jail… reality hasn't set in that he has to go to jail. He shouldn't have to go to jail."

Last night Lil Wayne said his final goodbye to his fans last night during a UStream broadcast by Young Money signee Lil Twist.
In it he shares laughs with Twist and other members of his Young Money hometeam before saying his last words to his fans.

"To all my fans, my real fans, I really, really, really truly love you. I love you with all of me, for real. I'll probably be loving everything else because I love you so much. Thank you from the bottom [of my heart]. Do not forget about me 'cause I will forever think about you, and I cannot wait for you to see me again. I'm out.”

As Drake prepares to “go-in” with his upcoming official debut, his mentor and YM president, Lil Wayne is “going-in” to the slammer. Wayne's guilty plea to a 2007 gun possession charge landed him a one way ticket to jail for nearly one year. While he prepares to do his time, his Young Money apprentice is pledging to hold his label down, ‘forver mane.'

In an interview with Rap-Up Drizzy addressed the YM President's unfortunate situation and deemed Young Lion as a “true businessman.”

“He's dealing with it well. Wayne's not usually gonna open up emotionally and tell you how he's really feeling about anything. He's kinda more concerned about getting as much music as he possibly can, so that when he's in there, people are still satisfied musically with Lil Wayne product, and that's just the mind of a true businessman."

He also makes sure to clarify that while Weezy's away, his Cash Money/ Young Money army will continue to stay strong in his absence under his guidance.

“I'll just do what I can to keep the whole Young Money/Cash Money team going, and I just want to play my part as a team member and keep the brand strong until the boss gets home.”

 

 

Weezy originally pleaded not guilty but now with his guilty plea, he will only face a maximum of 1 year in jail.

Weezy's upcoming trial for possession of a narcotic drug, narcotic drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia in Arizona is still set for March of next year.
