Lil Boosie Twitpic, Louisiana To Auction Off Home

Lil Boosie has been incarcerated for nearly a year, and troubles continue to mount for the 28-year-old Louisiana rapper.

While Boosie awaits his trial on murder charges, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is planning to sell the rapper's Louisiana home.

According to reports, Boosie, real name Torence I. Hatch, failed to pay $375,270.74 on January 20, 2011 to keep his home from being auctioned.

As a result, the home, located on Centurion Place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is scheduled to be auctioned off on June 29, 2011.

We'll assume all that money Boosie was tossing in this Youtube video dried up a long time ago, especially since his mother hit the web a few months ago to ask for support.

Boosie is facing the death penalty in his upcoming trial, and it can't get much worse than that.

Still, a picture of Boosie in his prison cell was released on the internet this weekend, and it appears that he's keeping his head (and jewelry) up.

Take a look:

On September 22, 2009, the life of rapper Lil Boosie was changed drastically as his freedom was stripped and he was placed behind bars.

Having his sentence doubled to 4 years, the rapper was taken away at a point where his career could have catapulted.

As a friend of Boosie, rapper Jeezy has spoke with VIBE to give his take on the Louisiana native and his new circumstances in a cell.

"I sit back and I just think, that the lil' homie [Lil' Boosie] is sitting there in a cell but he was on top of the world."

The rapper reflected on how Boosie was at a point in which he could have peaked and brought his city right behind him.

"In his lil' world in Lousiana he was that n*gga. I used to tell him all the time your moves are big! And I done went down there and hung out with him in the club in the streets and everything, I done been in his hood and everything, so to me, it's a sad thing to see...So you know, it just come with the territory, man, but it's just hard, dog.”

Jeezy added how his perception of success was drastically changed after becoming a rapper and how things quickly change, sometimes for the worse.

“I used to hear cats like 8Ball & MJG, Pac, all of them rap about what it used to be like [when you get successful] and say what the h*ll? It can't be that bad. Oh, it is. I see it now...If you ever listen to everybody's second or third albums, it's pretty much the same story: 'these n*ggas tripping.' I'm the same n*gga. I don't think you change, I just think the things around you change."

Just five days into the year, those that operate outside of the law are doing things that seem dumber and dumber by the instance.

In another case of dumb criminal meets lucky police, John Turnpaugh of New Orleans had the audacity to call local police and inform them that he had plans to kill President Obama as well as the First Lady.

Secret service agents were promptly notified of the call and traced the 47-year-old mans cell phone using call logs.

Turnpaugh was taken into custody and charged with threatening the president, a charge that was complimented by several local offenses including drug possession and possession of an illegal firearm.

He is scheduled to appear in federal court at the end of this week.

For those that were waiting for the official debut of Lil Wayne on the silver screen, the wait till have to continue.

Starring alongside actors such as Forest Whitaker and fellow rapper/Cash Money member Bow Wow, the Louisiana native was ready to bring the story of Hurricane Katrina to life with the film Hurricane Season.

Unfortunately, the movie has been sent straight to DVD to be picked up at local Blockbuster Video stores across the nation. The film also sprung a leak as if surfaced, in its entirety, over the Internet on December 13.

Hurricane Season was initially expected to come out sometime in 2010.

Bow Wow reacted, via Twitter, to the movie being leaked to the masses online.

“@TherealTaraji im so mad how they did us in hurricane. Not letting us know what they was gone fo. And then next thing its all over the net.”

The film was actually a project that many were excited about in Hollywood. Linking with director Tim Story, who directed other films such as Barbershop and Fantastic Four, the upcoming project had the green light to go.

Financially, however, the movie was unable to stay afloat as the project was under the Weinstein Studio which was facing countless financial troubles and was being forced to place many of their upcoming films on the shelf.

Along with a lack of funds, the movie was also considered obsolete with its subject matter of Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath after it hit Louisiana. Oddly enough, there are many movies that came out long after a national tragedy and were still able to receive a theatrical release.

Almost like the delayed actions after the Hurricane, there seems to be some suspicious business going on behind closed doors.

Carolyn Brown of Boutte, Louisiana got revenge on her boyfriend after the two had a fight, using her culinary skills to whip up a batch of scalding hot grits, opting to douse the poor gentleman with the food for his troubles.

Deputies in St. Charles Parish were called to Brown's residence after the attack to whisk her boyfriend away to a local medical facility; he suffered second-degree burns on his arms and face.

A police report revealed that the couple got into a argument on November 7th where Brown alleged that her boyfriend told her that he was breaking up with her, only falling asleep minutes later.

Brown, whom is facing a second-degree battery charge, is being held at Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility.

It's a good feeling to know that the fans will never let their own down and are willing to stand behind them no matter what the circumstances.

For Lil Wayne and Lil Boosie, their recent jail sentences, one serving and one pending, have incited an uproar for some in the city of New Orleans as a group of men decided to lead protests on behalf of the rappers to have them freed.

The New Orleans Police Department were given a mighty task Monday as these men felt it necessary to voice their opinion on the recent incarceration of Boosie, as well as, awaiting the sentence for Wayne.

The Times-Picayune reported that off-duty officers spotted men spray-painting the words “Free Lil Wayne” on the side of a building, along with other graffiti. They also played the role of spectator as the men placed a banner on a separate street which demanded that Boosie, Weezy and all other prisoners that have charges placed against them be freed from confinement.

The group also created a scene by placing police barricades and garbage cans in the street in order to block traffic.

It was reported that the men were without permits to organize such a protest. Once authorities were contacted, the men were arrested and all were charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest by flight and criminal damage to property.

Boosie spoke with HipHopWired before being sentenced to do a 4-year bid where he spoke on the atmosphere that was Louisiana, particularly his own nesting grounds.

“It's crazy…it's a recession, people are hungry man. Our governor, he an A-Hole, he just turned down damn near millions people to get jobs. We in a bad predicament. The court system all messed up they throwing people away. It's crazy.”

One can only be grateful that the scene did not erupt into violence, but such a scenario illustrates exactly how these artists leave imprints in the lives of those that embrace them. Whether they are referred to as stans or devoted friends/fans, they are clearly ready to ride out for their team.

There is no doubt that Hurricane Katrina was a storm of colossal proportions, a rarity even in the current climate of super-charged storm fronts, but it is the ruling of a judge that has given a target for all of those affected by the damage left in its wake.

In a monumental ruling, U.S. District Judge Stanwood R. Duval declared that the government, via negligence on the part of the Army Corp of Engineers, is directly responsible for many of the issues that people encountered after the winds settled.

In his 156-page decision, Judge Duval proceeded to rip the Army and U.S. Government a new one, using words such as “myopia, insouciance, and shortsightedness,” to describe the corps quality of work ethics.

“For more than 40 years the corps had known that a crucial levee protecting suburban St. Bernard Parish and the Lower 9th Ward neighborhood would be compromised by deterioration of the channel. The corps had a myriad of ways to address the problem but failed to do so.”

On the same day, Judge Duvall awarded $719,000 to a group of flood victims that sued the government in April of 2006.

The ruling creates a clear path for anyone effected by Katrina who would like to take legal action against the government in the storm's aftermath.

With the inefficiency that was FEMA, I am sure that there will be more lawsuits in the near future.
