Ludacris announced on his Facebook page, “I'm going to change my oil and change the world! I'm switching to a GREEN high performance made-in-America motor oil, G-OIL.”

For those unfamiliar with G-OIL, it is an alternative to fossil fuel that is noted to be safer for the environment. The eco-friendly fuel is reportedly “made of a blend of nature's American grown base oils and the first U.S. produced ultimate biodegradable bio-based motor oil to be approved by the American Petroleum Institute.”

Luda's switch to green didn't just come out of the blue, Green Earth Technologies will donate money and products to The Ludacris Foundation to reinforce among urban youth that every day can be Earth Day.  In exchange, The Fast Five star will support the partnership via social media.

Disturbing The Peace head and philanthropist Ludacris will join Cable News Network in honoring their “Top CNN Heroes of 2010.”

The Atlanta rapper was selected to judge over 100,000 nominations for CNN Heroes from more than 100 countries alongside Muhammad Ali, Richard Branson, cellist Yo Yo Ma, Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno and actor Rainn Wilson.

The “Top CNN Heroes of 2010” highlights everyday people who are changing the world during a two-hour celebrity-studded tribute broadcast Thanksgiving night.

President of CNN Worldwide Jim Walton has released a statement on the upcoming program saying,

“CNN Heroes has illustrated the best of humanity through the telling of stories of selfless acts of kindness, courage and perseverance…We are honored to bring these Heroes the recognition they so deserve. It is a program the entire CNN family is proud of and excited to share with our viewers on Thanksgiving night.”


Anderson Cooper will host the fourth annual "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT on November 25.

As previously reported Luda made headlines for his call to action at the National Press club luncheon before his foundation's annual benefit dinner. Now in light of his plight to give out money freely, a team of attorneys are taking him to court for unpaid legal fees.

 Carlton Fields P.A. is suing Cris and his foundation for $61,820. The law firm maintains that it defended him during a 2007 case for personal negligence and injuries. That case involved Ludacris, his foundation and his mother, Roberta J. Shields, versus Lawrence J. Hyde.

 The law firm began representation of the MC in March 2008 but ceased legal services in April 2009 after Cris failed to pay his outstanding balance.

As previously reported, he helped out people affected by the floods that swept through the area by donating $10,000 to Sam's Club and Home Depot for relief efforts. Now the avid activist is taking his push for community philanthropy nationwide. He's set to speak at the National Press Club luncheon to promote the benefits of philanthropic endeavors at the end of this month.  

Ludacris previewed his speech in a press release saying,

“In today's world we have new issues and new challenges. The old way of looking at these issues and challenges have not rendered the outcomes we want. Logical thinking, while necessary is not sufficient -- we need lateral thinking (thinking outside our current frame of reference). We need a new type of leadership."

The National Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Ludacris will deliver his speech at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009, followed by a question-and-answer session. His speech will be come before his Ludacris Foundation's annual Benefit Dinner in Washington, D.C.

He is also making headlines as he prepares for the BET Hip-Hop Awards taking place this weekend in Atlanta. The MC suprised 20 low-income Atlanta teens from the Operation Peace organization a suprise invitation to his rehearsals for the awards Thursday. The teens were allowed to watch Cris and Lil Scrappy prep for their performance Saturday.
