Shortly after the New Year, Nick Cannon was hospitalized for mild kidney failure. While Nick is recovering now, he still has a long road ahead of him. The Nickelodeon exec remains in good spirits and is slowly learning to embrace what's ahead of him.

"I don't get to eat a lot of the things, I like to eat," Cannon told MTV News. "I'm on a strict level diet. Right now I can't have any sodium, and then I move on to low sodium. But I've got to learn, to love it."

Nick Cannon is in an Aspen, Colorado hospital recuperating from "mild kidney failure," according to his wife, singer Mariah Carey.

Carey revealed the actor, rapper and TV executive's hospitilization via Twitter. "Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman," she tweeted, including a photo (below) of her and Cannon in a hospital bed.

Carey also released a statement on her official MariahCarey.com website. "This is us in the hospital - role reversal," begins Carey's post.  "Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are."

The message continues, "We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C."

The couple and their twins (Moroccan and Monroe) were in Aspen for the holidays. Carey also asked fans to keep the family in their prayers.

Part time rapper Nick Cannon and his wife Mariah Carey will finally show off their new twins Moroccan and Monroe.

Born in April, the twins  will make their television debut on   20/20 on ABC  on Oct. 21 at 10 p.m. during an interview with their parents.

It's been ten years since one of the nation's biggest tragedies struck and stopped the world on the morning of September 11th. Coincidentally that date back in 2001 was also the day that Jay-Z released his sixth album, The Blueprint.

The LP was surrounded by controversy because of the escalated beef with Nas, the single "Izzo" and the soulful sound that marked a change in the hip-hop industry.

Selling an outstanding 420,000 copies in its first week during a time of declining sales and national panic, The Blueprint silenced critics and surprised the world.

CNN featured an article about the success of the album that introduced Kanye West and Just Blaze and defeated the odds.

Tricia Rose, a professor at Brown University and author of "The Hip Hop Wars" wrote that the reason for Jay's sixth release doing so well was the fact that young people respond differently to the country's tragedies.

Bob Dylan's Love and Theft and Mariah Carey's Glitter also dropped that day but given the older fan base of those artists, a trip to the store was not as likely as the supporters of Hov.

"There was a lot of confusion and definitely an unsettled feeling, but New York, at least this area, was still functioning," said Daniel Givens, a buyer for Other Music, a Brooklyn record store located about a mile from where the World Trade Center stood.

Add the fact that The Blueprint was one of the first major albums available for digital download on the new iTunes and you have a whopping first week that led to 2 million copies sold.

Fabolous debuted his first album that same day and sold 143,000 copies in one week with Ghetto Fabolous which proved that rap fans were still out getting their fix.

According to media professor Aaron Sachs, "Hip-hop heads (fans) have a different kind of relationship to music than fans of other genre...Being a hip-hop head means purchasing albums no matter what else is going on in your life or the world, especially an album as hot and highly anticipated as 'The Blueprint' was."

Now that British pop star Cheryl Cole is out of the run for the U.S. version of the show, there are reports today that Mariah Carey is back in the mix.

Although nothing has been officially announced or confirmed, the news has reportedly stunned Sinitta, who was expecting to get the position in America.

“Well, let's just say feathers will fly if Mariah takes my spot,” Sinitta told Britain's Daily Star newspaper. “Although she is a mega diva vocally, you can expect another XF USA drama. I won't just roll over and take it. I hope she can run in high heels.”

Mariah is set to join Cowell for the “judges home” stage of the competition, where potential finalists are invited to their mentor's luxury pads to perform a song of their choosing.

Last April, the then-pregnant Carey was rumored to be considering a judging role on the “X Factor” but L.A Reid, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul have already begun work on the show.

In what may be a tribute that comes off more like a spoof, Mariah Carey's man has donned garbs similar to that of the legendary Michael Jackson in his "Rock With You" video for his own vid entitled "Famous" which features Akon.

In this teaser we see Nick with a curly wig mimicking the moves of the late pop king. Nick states, “I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan, so to be in that ‘Rock With You' costume and have it look exactly like the video was crazy.”

Crazy indeed, maybe it was even delusional to think that this would be an acceptable recreation to pull off.  Or maybe this was just good fun comedy since Cannon will take on the images of  MC Hammer, Antoine Dodson, Gene Simmons and other performers in teasers that are on the way.
