Mary J. Blige kicked-off the charity collaboration between Belvedere vodka and the Product Red campaign by performing at an exclusive pre-Grammy concert at club Avalon in Hollywood, California on Thursday night (Feb. 9). The event, was the first in a series of Belvedere activities to raise proceeds for the Global Fund, which reigns as the world's largest financier of programs to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Blige took the stage to perform a short set of hits including "My Life," "No More Drama," and "Just Fine." As the undisputed queen of Hip-Hop soul, the 41-year-old explained that when it comes to narrowing down her favorite rap collaborations over the years, the list is overflowing with some of the best MCs in the game. "Of course Method Man is one of my favorites," Blige told Hip-Hop Wired of the Grammy award-winning track "I'll Be There For You/Your All I Need To Get By" she appeared on. "Jay-Z is one of my favorites, Busta Rhymes is one of my favorites...I mean shoot the list can just go on and on!" Yet when it comes to her dream R&B collaboration, the Yonkers native revealed that if given the opportunity she would have loved to perform with one particular songstress who, like Blige, infused personal struggles in her music. "It was Amy Winehouse at one time. I don't know who that dream collaboration is right now."

Following her set, the music continued by way of DJ Skrillex who manned the turntables, before making way for a surprise performance by drummer and singer Sheila E. Other celebrity attendees included Kelis, MC Lyte, and comedian Chelsea Handler. While the show was a private invite-only event, fans from around the globe were able to tune in to a live stream of Blige's performance via Facebook.

Launched late last year, the Belvedere Red Special Edition bottles offer the same high quality vodka as the brand's standard products but in a limited edition package. Belvedere donates 50 percent of its profits to the Global Fund.

1 More Hit - Extended Trailer - 1MOREHITTHEMOVIE.COM

1 More Hit is a rockumentary based around the seven years that producer J-Swift battled his addiction to crack cocaine to get clean. Swift was responsible for The Pharcyde's hit "Passing Me By," and even produced for Prince, but in the late 90's he fell victim to the world of drugs and his friend, director and producer Shauna Garr was able to capture his journey on camera.

The film first premiered in 2007 but it is now slated for a Video On Demand release on December 5, 2011 and it will be available in 16.5 million homes in the U.S. It began as a pilot for a reality show in 2004 but now it is a full-length documentary that includes commentary from Method Man, Paul Mooney, Akon, Mike Epps and more stars speaking on artists and drug addiction.

Method Man No Longer Wants To Be Tied To Weed

Method Man is taking a new stance and distancing himself from his longtime association with marijuana.

The Wu Tang clan member sat down for an interview with VIBE to discuss why he longer wants to be known for his weed rhymes.

Speaking to the mag he says his children were a large part of his decision.

"I"don't want that every time you hear Method Man's name you associate it with getting high or marijuana because there's so much more to me than that. I'm not actually distancing myself from my marijuana culture people but it's not in the forefront anymore. I got kids to raise, man. Plus it was never really that bad. It gets comes to a point where no matter where you go they're always thinking you're high. And I'm not always high. I mean right now I'm sober as a priest."

Despite his claims of wanting dissasociation, Meth is currently on The Smoker's Club Tour with Curren$y and Big K.R.I.T.

Despite that Meth still says he wants an identity outside of weed unlike Wiz Khalifa and some of his other counterparts that Meth gladly gives props to.

"Wiz is going way out there with it. I applaud that cat big time too because he's doing it his way and it's his time now. Let him ride," says Method Man. "It's always going to be there whether it's Wiz or Method Man or Redman, Big K.R.I.T. whoever. It's always just going to be there. It's recreational, baby. Do you know how many closeted weed smokers there are? They're going to be coming out of the closet like gay men. I'm serious. Then we're going to have these marches like the gay community did."

Method Man recently made headlines for appearing in a "Sour Patch Kids" candy commercial.

Irv Gotti Wants To Be Def Jam President

Irv Gotti hasn't gone to see Ja Rule in prison yet because his flagship artist is still bouncing around to different cells, but he did talk to Sway about a spot he wants to be in and that's the president's seat at Def Jam.

A passionate Irv Gotti sat next to Method Man on MTV's Rap Fix Live and spoke about his desire to take over the heralded hip-hop label but not just for his sake, for the good of the entire culture.

"Def Jam personifies the hip-hop culture," said the Murder INC founder. "Def Jam hasn't had a president since Jay-Z...listen if you don't want to hire me the best man for the job, the man that would die for it. Put somebody in there because you're not giving any sign or any indication that you care about my culture."

Gotti credits Lyor Cohen, Julie Greenwald, Kevin Liles and everyone that played a part in Def Jam's success over the years, but he feels that there is a void that the successful Cash Money just can't fill.

Maybe there's still a chance that he may get to hold the position as the head of the "home for the homeless," but as of right now listen to Irv give distinct reasons why he's the man for the job.

Method Man's Sour Patch Kids Commercial

Wu Tang Clan member Method Man has caught flack from critics for his new Sour Patch Kids candy rap video, but the veteran MC doesn't feel like he sold out.

"If I'm selling out, then the majority of the people in the game are selling out," Method Man toldd The Huffington Post.

"I think it is for the betterment of the music. At least [Sour Patch Kids] got a real rapper to do a video. They got a rough rapper and they should get kudos for that and I should get kudos for broadening our horizons."

The "World Gone Sour (The Lost Kids)" video, which was released in September, features Method rapping about Sour Patch Kids candy; an extended commercial, in which the rapper was paid for and had creative control over.

"They made the first phone call and I was apprehensive because you think candy, you think kids, but they reassured me they would give me total freedom," Meth said.

"When we were doing the St. Ides commercials, no one was talking about us selling out because that was hip-hop. I'm going to make Sour Patch hip-hop," he said, reference St. Ides liquor commercials featuring artists like Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Snoop Dogg and himself in the '90s.

Method Man has a point. He he put out a new album, we doubt anyone would run to the store to buy it.

Let Method Man make his money however he can.

Watch the video and leave your thoughts:

Method Man Praises Odd Future & Tyler, The Creator

Method Man likes the West Coast group known as Odd Future, but he doesn't understand why they have to be compared to Wu-Tang Clan.

“Why? ‘Cause of the eyeball thing? ‘Cause he put the black eyeball things in? That's what media does. They compare s**t,” Meth told Soul Culture UK about the question comparing Tyler and his gang to the legendary Shaolin crew.

Method Man goes on to say he loves Tyler, loves Odd Future and calls the Yonkers video weird. "But I'm into weird s**t.” Look at the interview below.
