In the latest Police Report, Homicide Detective David Quinn stated:

“The victim, Mario Hamilton, known as Slim Dunkin,….according to witnesses, someone came into this room, struck him and a fight ensued. The information we're getting, it's unconfirmed, but witnesses are saying this whole thing started over a piece of candy….“

While murder is never an easy crime to understand, the reasons behind this one make it all the more difficult.  The police are saying that there was an argument, which led to a fight, and being that Dunkin (who stands 6'8) was bigger than his attacker, was the reason behind the usage of the firearm.

The reason for there being a lack of suspects, is said to be because at the time of the incident, the witnesses rushed Dunkin to the hospital, rather than inform the police.  The cops arrived at the hospital where Dunkin was driven, and about 90 minutes later, at the crime scene.  Upon their arrival, all of the witnesses had already dispersed, which leaves the gaping hole in the case.

Losing someone is never easy to deal with, and with this coming around the Holiday's, I can only imagine what his family and friends are going through.  Let's hope this situation can come to a close soon, to place all of the grieving parties at ease, just a little.

The murder of The Notorious B.I.G is one of hip-hop's cold cases that may never get solved. Fourteen years after the fatal night Christopher Wallace left a party at the Petersen Automotive Museum in California and a black Chevy Impala rolled up beside his SUV, the LAPD's involvement is still in question.

In 2005, a civil suit was filed by Wallace's family against the city of L.A after it was discovered that there was evidence being hidden by the police force linking two undercover officers, David Mack and Rafael Perez to the crime and the label Death Row Records.

Both Mack and Perez were later convicted of other crimes. Mack for bank robbery while Perez stole and resold cocaine from police evidence lockers.

Now according to KCAL 9, A cellmate of Perez recently provided new information supporting a cover up of the incidents that took place on March 9th, 1997 to news station.

“Perez was working security. Perez had a cell phone. Perez said he called over to Mack, David Mack on his cell phone. Perez told Mack that Biggie Smalls was in his truck. Perez never said that he set up Biggie Smalls but I have heard that he…had something to do with that murder,” according to the inmate.

He also tied the officers to Death Row Records, claiming they went to all of their parties.

Former lead investigator, Russell Poole says these statements are just a glimpse into hundreds of pages of documents that were hidden from Wallace family attorneys.

Poole, who resigned from the LAPD in 1999 says that the LAPD has a reason to hide the officers' involvement. The Rodney King beating, the riots that followed, and the verdict in the O.J. Simpson case were all blemishes on the track record of the department.

If two minority officers had something to do with the killing of a rap superstar, especially while one of them was on-duty, the city would face embarrassment, racial tension and be liable for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Is that enough reason to keep this case cold?

Mack and Perez have both served their sentences and are free today.

Local and federal authorities are back pursuing leads in the 13-year-old murder case of slain rapper Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace, according to a recent article by CNN.

In the article, a law enforcement officer close to the investigation claims that the baffling case was "reinvigorated" months ago as a result of new information. No more information on the re-opening of the case was given because of the ongoing investigation that includes the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney's Office and the FBI.

Wallace was shot and killed on March 9, 1997, while sitting in the passenger side in a vehicle that was leaving an industry party in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles police have surmised that a lone gunman in a Chevy Impala pulled alongside Wallace's vehicle, and opened fire on the rapper. Witnesses described the suspect as being an African-American man wearing a suit and bow tie.

There have been many theories as to who murdered or had B.I.G. murdered. The main one involves former Death Row label executive Marion “Suge” Knight, whose record label had a public beef with Wallace's Bad Boy brand. This theory claims that Knight had B.I.G. murdered as retaliation for the shooting death of his former artist Tupac Shakur who was gunned down six months prior to Wallace's death in Las Vegas. Tupac's death still remains unsolved and Knight has never been charged with Wallace's death.

As recently reported, Wallace's ex wife Faith Evans says she has an idea what went down that night, but doesn't ever think it will be solved by the judicial system.

According to the New York Post, Robert Henkel, the step-brother of the victim, states that G-Dep shouldn't have confessed to the murder and thinks  that G-Dep should have listened to his mother who reportedly told the rapper not to “turn himself in.”

"His mother told him, 'Don't turn yourself in,' " Henkel said in the interview (referring to a previous New York Post interview with G-Dep). "She was right . . . After all this time, yes, he just should have shut up."

Henkel also states that although he understands the gesture, he is actually thinking of G-Dep and his family and claims that Dep should have done the same.

"I think he's an idiot," Henkel continued. "He has three kids and a wife. It was years and years and years ago. Finally, we're not always thinking about it . . . and now it has to be dug up all again."

As previously reported, G-Dep, whose real name is Trevell Coleman, walked into the 25th Precinct in New York and confessed to the cold case on December 18, the 36-year-old rapper-who was 18 at the time reportedly told police:

"I shot and killed someone 17 years ago."

The murder reportedly happened on October 19, 1993 outside the James Weldon Johnson Houses when G-Dep attempted to rob 32-year-old John Henkel.

Dep's lawyer states that the confession was a part of a drug rehabilitation program that Dep was completing to turn his life around.

Infant Slammed To Ground, Thrown In Trash; Dad Charged

A man in Ohio has been charged with murder after slamming his infant son on the ground.

According to NBC 4 in Ohio, Quindell Sherman was arrested after police responded to a call from the child's mother during an argument.

Police state that it was then that Sherman took the infant outside, threw him to the ground several times before running off with the child.

After searching, officers found the infant severely injured, in a trash bin.

The infant was transported to Nationwide Children's Hospital in trauma arrest, where he was pronounced dead at the hospital less than an hour later.

Sherman was arrested and charged with murder.

Lt. Joe Cyril tells the Associated Press that they found 48-year-old Sandra Kotz armed and sitting on a curb near the car Sunday.
When they approached the woman, Cyril says she pointed to the vehicle where they found the lifeless body of 58-year-old Ellen Ann Bayless.

The AP reports that police were tipped off to look for Kotz after her sister told them she called and confessed to killing the woman and was driving around with her body.

Bayless, was trying to reportedly help her estranged sister-in law who had been living on the street.

Following clashes between the police and members of Boko Haram, a group that was calling for the enforcement of Islamic law across Nigeria, there became a wide circulation of Nigerian security forces and many reports started to stir of killings at the hands of the forces last year.

Although the news seemed to be kept under wraps, Al Jazeera was able to capture footage of particular incidents in the country where the forces seems to be ordering civilians to lay on the ground before being executed.

There have been reports by human rights groups that many of those that were killed were unarmed civilians, which is given confirmation from the footage released.

Haiti isn't the only area going through trying times.

So maybe it wasn't enough to continue to keep the legacy of rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur alive with post-death albums.  Now there are rumors circulating that the late rapper has a sex tape floating around the Internet.

During his growing success as a rapper, Shakur was quite the ladies man and even professed his overbearing love for the opposite sex.

Although his sexual endeavors may not have been chronicled extensively by the mainstream, a song by the name of “I Get Around” was an indicator that Shakur enjoyed what happened whether the lights were on or off.

Two questions come up directly.  Why is a man videotaping his homeboy getting it in and why are they watching it together the next day?

No homo may not have existed back then, but there's definitely a flag on the play for that one.

Although no album happens to be on the way like tomorrow, Shakurspeare is the upcoming release slated for June 16, which happens to be his 39^th birthday.  The project will contain some of his first songs that were recorded back in the late 80's.

There is also still word on another documentary in the works.  Titled Tupac Assassination II: Reckoning, the original took a deep glimpse into the unsolved murder of the rapper, is rumored to drop in 2009 while the film Live 2 Tell, which he was written by Pac back in 1995, is still under debate with no news of a release date.

The 14-year-old assailant's name has not, and will not, be released due to him being a juvenile.  He is expected to appear in juvenile court before a judge today.

Three other teens are expected to receive stiff penalties for their respective parts in Albert's brutal beating and subsequent murder.

Albert was a sophomore at Chicago's Christian Fenger Academy High School. His murder was captured by an onlooker with a camera on his cell phone.

Although time may not be able to mask the murder of former Tennessee Titans QB Steve McNair, his son has found a means to deal with everything.

Resorting to football as an outlet, Steve McNair, Jr, a wide receiver for Oak Grove High School, has used his talent for the sport to his full advantage in regards to recruitment.

It has all clearly paid off now as the young athlete has made the decision to attend the University of Southern Mississippi.

Speaking with The Hattiesburg American, McNair confirmed his choice.

“I just wanted to give my family a chance to watch my games.  I wanted to stay close to home and I love the Southern Miss campus.”

Although showing his verbal commitment already, McNair will wait until February 3 to make it official as it is the first day of the NCAA signing period.

Jr has been commended by his coaches as Nevil Barr stated that he was always there to make that big play whether it was offense, defense or special teams.

His talents have also been noted outside of his surroundings as he is a top prospect in the state and has been given the prestigious titled of being part of the “Dandy Dozen” team.

NFL's Steve McNair was found dead July 4, 2009 with multiple gunshot wounds.  With a young woman named Sahel Kazemi dead at his feet, the media tried to disgrace his legacy by putting more focus on the actual controversy of the relationship and giving minimal mention to what he has given back.

As the family will continue to remember a husband and a father, Jr. will ensure that the football legacy of the McNair family will continue to live on.
