BBC Radio Cancels Tim Westwood's Afternoon Show

Lauded British radio host and Hip-Hop DJ ,Tim Westwood, has been fired from his afternoon post at BBC Radio. Westwood's show has become a go-to location for the likes of Nicki Minaj, A$AP Rocky, Wale, Big Sean, and more so it's confusing why he would be let go from the gig. The 54-year-old broke the news to his more than 200,000 followers on Twitter yesterday without giving much insight into why he was booted. "I've been sacked from 1Xtra Mon-Fri 4-7pm from sept ‪#Westwoodyourfired‬," he wrote.

After hearing the news, Minaj was downright shocked and used her Twitter page to blast the decision to give Westwood the pink slip. "Noooooooooooooo Tim Westwood is such a big part of my UK experience!!!!!" she wrote. "He's a f**king superstar!!!! Best interviews hands down!!!! Wtf?!?!" Minaj also asked Westwood to contact her, and begged him to move to the states.

Even though his "drivetime" slot is no more, Westwood will remain under the employ of the BBC hosting a Sunday night program, alongside his Saturday night time slot.

Nicki Minaj Wants Her Fans To Pick Her Next Single

It seems like just yesterday Nicki Minaj was kissing up on Nas in her "Right By My Side" video, and she's already moving on to the next big record. The Harajuku Barbie created a poll via her official website giving her "kenz" and "barbz" the opportunity to pick her next single.

Minaj divided the options between her pop joints, dance tracks, and the ever aggressive submissions of her alter ego, Roman Zolanski. As of today (May 25) "Marilyn Monroe," "Champion," "Pound the Alarm," and "Va Va Voom" are leading the pack in votes. Not that they needed the incentive, but Minaj also went on Twitter to encourage fans to take the poll, promising to read all of their responses. "Leave your comments," she wrote. "Gonna read them now."

Since dropping her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album last month, the 29-year-old has remained in the top 25 on Billboard's album charts. In promotion of the album, she will kick-off her North American tour July 16, in Chicago.

Birdman Tells DJ Envy That Lil' Kim Is Lying [VIDEO]

Birdman and Mack Maine stopped by MTV 2's Sucker Free Countdown this week and talked to DJ Envy about the controversial Lil' Kim interviewed that aired on Power 105 a few days ago.

Basically, Birdman said Lil' Kim is lying through her teeth. Check the video after the break.

Justin Bieber Taps Nicki Minaj, Drake, Big Sean For Believe Album

Justin Bieber is calling in the Hip-Hop heavyweights for is forthcoming Believe album. The project, produced by Scott “Scooter” Braun and Usher, features appearances from Nicki Minaj, Drake, Big Sean, and Ludacris. On the production side of things, the 18-year-old has teamed with Diplo, Hitboy, Rodney Jerkins, among others, to help construct the album's sound.

For his third album, the Biebs has been noticeably influenced by rap music, as heard on his “Boyfriend” single, and the remix which features the Ying Yang twins. The single is a certified Internet hit, with the music video receiving 8 million views in one day, and 44 million views since its release May 3.

Believe drops June 19.

6 Rappers Who Lied About Retiring From The Game

Rappers love to bite the hand that feeds them. The music game can be a bumpy ride, and at some point the public glare becomes too much to stomach. Retiring is definitely within their rights, but with so many people claiming to be done with music—but never actually making steps to leave the spotlight— but threatening to walk away from music has become more of a publicity stunt, and less of a believable proclamation.

Earlier today, T.I. became the latest MC to announce that he “wants out” of the music game, because he doesn't like the direction in which things are going. Being that he runs a record label, and is the self-proclaimed King of the South, the idea of him completely walking away seems farfetched, but we'll humor him anyway. In honor of Tip's unofficial announcement, here are six other rappers who said they'd walk away from the game—but never did.
