The shooting case of 18-year-old Ramarley Graham has taken a new turn after video was released showing NYPD officers kicking down the door of the home of Graham's grandmother in the Wakefield section of the Bronx. The video, which Hip-Hop Wired warns is intense, shows Graham entering his home calmly last Thursday with NYPD officers rushing the door behind and then proceeding to kick the door down.

Graham's family, who assert that the officers acted out of line in trying to apprehend the teen, released the footage, which was aired by local New York station WPIX. Reporters from the station visited the area and home of Graham, where neighbors say the police never once identified themselves and were threatening to residents. The landlord to the Graham residence, Paulette Minzie, said police shoved their weapons in her face and searched her home for weapons. The officers had no search warrant.

Since Thursday, NYPD commissioner Ray Kelly named 30-year old officer Richard Haste as the shooter in the case, saying that Haste shouted to Graham to show his hands and offer up a gun before shooting the teen in the chest inside a bathroom in the home. Kelly has placed Haste, a three-year veteran, and Sgt. Scott Morris, also present on the scene, on desk duty pending investigation.

Rev. Al Sharpton is helping to raise funds for Graham's funeral and also to help assist helping the teen's grandfather arrive to the States from Jamaica for the service. Sharpton spoke openly of the case over the weekend.

“Why would you break in a house and shoot a young man and kill him?" Rev. Al Sharpton said on Saturday. "You cannot get to a conclusion without starting with the premise. The premise is wrong. They had no business breaking in the house.”

NYPD To Start Scanning People On The Streets For Guns [Video]

If you thought you had a hard time going through airports, just wait a few months if you're trying to walk the streets of New York. The NYPD plans to start using technology that can detect people carrying guns on their person.

The technology, similar to infrared imaging , includes a mechanism that can detect a natural energy, known as terahertz radiation, that emits from a person's body. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly announced details about the new search method and stated,

“This technology has shown a great deal of promise as a way of detecting weapons without a physical search."

The new technology can only be used three to four feet away. Kelly told the New York Daily News that the technology was part of the department's continuing efforts to curb illegal guns off the street as he addressed the Police Foundation at the Regency Hotel on Park Ave. He said cops hope to install the heat-seeking devices on police vehicles in the near future. There are some questions about the device though as many feel unwarranted stops will be made if the device picks up other devices, like iPods, that it may perceive to be a weapon.

What are your thoughts? Is this an invasion of privacy or will it really keep the streets safe???

Shame Shame Shame...NY Cop Guilty Of Planting Evidence

A New York City police detective has been found guilty of official misconduct after it was concluded that he planted crack cocaine on an unsuspecting couple in 2007.

Detective Jason Arbeeny, a 14-year police veteran, was found guilty Tuesday (October 8 ) by Brooklyn State Supreme Court Justice Gustin Reichbach of falsifying business records, submitting a false instrument for filing and official misconduct.

Prosecutors say, Arbeeny, who worked the NYPD's Brooklyn South unit, planted a small bag of rock cocaine on a man and women during a search four years ago.

He faces up to four years in prison when sentenced.

But forget him though, all his cases should be reviewed and see how many innocent people he has sent to jail with his lies and falsifying of evidence.

Is four years too short of time... weigh in.

16 New York police department officers are being indicted now that they've been named in a lengthy corruption case.

Unlike other corruption scandals, the 16 officers are not charged with any criminal masterminding, instead they're accused of helping friends and family get out of tickets.

Along with the officers, five others will be indicted as part of a lengthy investigation into one officer suspected of having ties to a drug dealer.

A wire tap investigation showed that the officer in question, officer Jose Ramos, was receiving several calls from people asking him to fix their tickets for them.

He and his wife were arrested Thursday.

His lawyer has since released a statement on his incarcerations saying,

<strong

>“If he had done any of these things that they say, they would've arrested him two months ago. Or two years ago. Why did they let him go to work, then?”

Earlier this week federal prosecutors brought conspiracy charges against five current and three former NYPD officers claiming they were part of a gun-running ring.

That damn NYPD just can't get right...

A trial into the corruption of the Brooklyn South Narcotics police squad has hit all new lows for the police department.
Now, a woman testifying in the case has claimed the BSN police officers would force her to have sex with them for crack cocaine.

Malanie Perez, says the she was virtually passed around to different officers in the unit and even received holiday incentives.

“He gave me a nice piece for Christmas,” she recalled. “It was crack and it was kickin.'”

The trial has already revealed numerous claims that the BSN planted drugs on innocent people in order to meet quotas.

NYPD Detective Admits To Fabricating Drug Charges Against Innocent People

Former New York narcotics detective Stephen Anderson admitted to fabricating drug cases against innocent people in order to meet arrest quotas, while testifying in court for his involvement in a NYPD corruption scandal

Anderson admitted to planting cocaine on suspects to help his colleagues make arrest quotas and secure their jobs.

The NY Daily News reports:

Anderson, testifying under a cooperation agreement with prosecutors, was busted for planting cocaine, a practice known as “flaking,” on four men in a Queens bar in 2008 to help out fellow cop Henry Tavarez, whose buy-and-bust activity had been low.

“Tavarez was … was worried about getting sent back [to patrol] and, you know, the supervisors getting on his case,” he recounted at the corruption trial of Brooklyn South narcotics Detective Jason Arbeeny.

Anderson admitted to multiple false arrests saying, "It was something I was seeing a lot of, whether it was from supervisors or undercovers and even investigators."

"It's almost like you have no emotion with it, that they attach the bodies to it, they're going to be out of jail tomorrow anyway; nothing is going to happen to them anyway," he said.

Reports also state that NYC paid $300,000 to settle a false arrest lawsuit by Jose Colon and his brother Maximo, who were falsely arrested by Anderson and Tavarez, after a surveillance tape showed they had been framed.

If this doesn't prove that some cops are corrupt than nothing will. Are you surprised?

NYPD Officer Robbed Drug Dealers To Pay Bills

It was like something out of a movie. Or maybe movies get their material from real life situations like these.

Former NYPD police officer Jorge Arbaje-Diaz has was sentenced to 20 years in prison for robbing drug dealers and using the proceeds to foot his mortgage, according to reports by the New York Daily News.

Diaz was fired from the force in May 2010 after pleading guilty to using gang members to pose as cops and help shake down drug dealers, relieving them of their cash and valuables. The trial revealed that Diaz participated in several robberies, including one while in uniform and on duty, and another in where a child was present and held a gunpoint.

The former transit officer's excuse was that he needed the money to pay his mortgage. Brooklyn Federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis wasn't trying to hear it.

"The idea that he was motivated by a variable-rate mortgage puts us in the world of the absurd," Garaufis said in court.

"Mr. Arbaje-Diaz, you are the poster boy for a sentence that will deter others from doing the acts you engaged in," he added before handing down the sentence.

Diaz told the courtroom, "I got carried away by the reckless character of youth."

A woman is making headlines after claiming that New York police brutally beat her for not picking up after her dog.

Ann Stanczyk, a 49-year-old Queens woman, says she was humiliated after police attacked her on “Black Friday and wrongly accused her of not picking up after her pet.

The woman of Polish descent tells the New York Daily News in halting English,

"They saw my dog and they said I didn't clean up. I said, 'No, she only pee.' They, of course, not agree with me and I say, 'Show me. Where is it?'”

Stanczyk says officers then found feces and ordered her to pick it up.

“Pick it up," she said one cop ordered her. "I got scared. I pick up. I said, 'It's cold, not belong to my dog.' When I smiled and said I didn't do anything, that made them very upset.”

She was handcuffed and arrested.

She says however that things took a turn for the worse when she tried to stop them from closing the patrol car door with her feet.

"I get scared to death," she said. "I started to scream, 'My dog! My dog!' They punch me in my face. They punch me in my breast. They punch me in my stomach."

She has been charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Two New York City men are taking the city of New York and members of the New York police department to court after they say officers unlawfully hit them with batons after a shootout.

Devon Riley and Kurt Liburd say they were packing up food outside of Cosi restaurant where they worked as a baker and a maintenance worker on August 8 when they heard gunfire.

The men say they ran toward the shots to check on a friend in the area and saw police standing by the bodies of two men.

When they approached the scene they were stopped by police who reportedly struck them with batons, leaving them with injuries.

Liburd says he suffered a laceration on his head and Riley a fractured elbow.

An attorney for the men has since spoken out saying,

“Once again, we have innocent bystanders beaten indiscriminately by police with their nightsticks.”

Another bystander who was struck in the leg is also suing police.

A Brooklyn college bound teen spent four days in a coma after having his head slammed down to the ground by the NYPD.

Rahiym Holmes, a star football player who was set to attend Kingsborough Community College in the fall-suffered a fractured skull and brain damage in the incident. It is still unclear why Holmes was targeted and later ticketed by police.

He was approached by a police officer while walking home from a barbecue at the Canarsie Pier in Brooklyn.

Holmes and a friend ended up walking 2 miles back home, when witnesses say police began taunting him. When approached by police, Holmes surrendered and placed both hands up- but that didn't prevent the officer from body-slamming him to the ground to the point where he was bleeding and vomiting.

Holmes has been in a coma since then. Due to his physical condition, Holmes is unable to speak about the incident and the reason for the attack.

"He cannot walk without help and may never fully recover", said his lawyer, Leslie Kelmachter.

Holmes' mother Channell Barber says that it not only pains her to see her son go through the ordeal, but also in having to explain the incident to her 11 year old son. The NYPD claims that internal affairs is investigating the incident.

Good luck on the recovery Rahim.
