While Drake made fans happy by blessing them with three new tracks yesterday, last night the OVO rapper was at least momentarily in a foul mood. In video footage, the Toronto native is seen angrily rushing back into a DC nightclub, tossing a gang of cash to the ground in the process.
Drake’s birthday was on Thursday (Oct. 23), but on this Saturday (Oct. 25) the OVO honcho gifts the Internets and his fans with three new songs, “6 God,” “Heat Of The Moment” & “How Bout Now.”
It’s Drake’s 28th birthday. He couldn’t be more deserving of a celebration.
A co-sign from Drake made the phrase, “I got the club going up…,” as familiar a phrase in Hip-Hop as any at the moment. The mind behind the song, ILOVEMAKONNEN, an official signee of OVO Sound, returns alongside the Grammy Award Winning rapper in the official video for “Tuesday.”
PARTYNEXTDOOR kicked off his first headlining tour, “PND LIVE,” on Sunday night (October 19) in Montreal, Canada.
Drake is in St. Martin (or Sint Maartin) shooting a video and maybe or maybe not cavorting with model Lira Galore. Also, it seems that OVO affiliate P. Reign stole some dude’s girlfriend, for the evening, leading said boyfriend to trash his own hotel room in anger.
ILOVEMAKONNEN’s rap rolodex has expanded tenfold since the success of “Tuesday.” The rapper, however, calls on an old acquaintance in Wiz Khalifa to add some flair to his track “I Don’t Sell Molly No More.”
ILOVEMAKONNEN had a cult following before Drake remixed “Tuesday”; but having inked a deal with OVO Sound, many are waiting to hear if the newcomer can live up to the hype. With that said, the Los Angeles-born, Atlanta-bred artist appears on a new Mike WiLL Made It-produced track called “Wishin’ You Well.”
The Drake-assisted “Recognize,” “SLS,” and “FWU,” seem to be the fan-favorite records on PARTYNEXTDOOR’s latest body of work. Wale, however, shows his affinity for track 10, “Thirsty,” by delivering a proper remix.
With only a pair of official projects and a co-sign from a pretty known Toronto rapper, PARTYNEXTDOOR has quickly amassed a cult-like fan base. And that should only continue with the announcement of his upcoming fall tour.
The “Drake vs. Lil Wayne” tour just got more interesting. The YMCMB duo are embarking on the West Coast leg of shows, during which YG will now perform.
Now halfway through their collaborative tour, Drake and Lil Wayne most recently took the stage in Atlanta on August 31, where they invited 2 Chainz and OVO Sound’s newest signee ILOVEMAKONNEN to perform.
