Xzibit Joins Cast Of Weekend At Bellvue

Rapper Xzibit is reportedly preparing his return to television.

X to the Z, is a part of Fox's pilot for a new medical drama titled Weekends At Bellvue, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The show is based on the memoir of psychiatrist Julie Holland M.D and centers around a doctor in charge of the weekend shift at Bellevue's psychiatric ward.

Xzibit has been tapped to play the role of a character named “Chuck.”

Actors Lauren Ambrose, Janet McTeer, Eric Winter and Amber Stevens have also signed on to be a part of the new series.

No date has been given for the premiere of the show.

Xzibit is no stranger to the camera.

The West coast rapper turned actor has starred in several films including, 8 Mile, Adult Videos: State of the Union, Hoodwinked, Gridiron Gang, The X-Files: I Want to Believe and Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, as well as hosting the popular MTV series Pimp My Ride.

Xzibit is the latest in Hollywood facing a tax lien now that he's said to owe nearly $1 million to the IRS.

The West Coast emcee and former “Pimp My Ride Host” reportedly owes the IRS $959,523 in back taxes.

According to public records obtained by the Detroit News, The IRS filed a $22,196 lien against Xzibit last month in Los Angeles.

The lien was the fourth tax demand he faced in recent years including last year when he was hit with two bills amounting to $640,972 in total.

In 2008, he faced a tax lien for $296,355.

The Detroit News also reports that the rapper has filed for bankruptcy twice, citing the cancellation of "Pimp My Ride" for his financial troubles.

Now he's appearing on another network, ABC, and helping families in need with repairing their houses. X to the Z will appear on an episode of Extreme Home Makeover Sunday, October 11. On the episode he'll help the makeover team build a new home for the Hill family of Suffield, Connecticut.

He recently spoke to the New York Daily News about his volunteer effort and the difficult task of building a home saying,

“It was something I was definitely interested in. I didn't know what I was signing up for; building a house in seven days is something else."

X also mentioned to the paper that building a house for someone was totally different from revamping a car like on ‘Pimp' saying,

“It's totally different. I got to know the family, the mother, the father, the kids, and the situation they were in. To see them go through that, and see the transformation ... it's something to know anticipation for myself, but when you anticipate something for somebody else, it's something exciting."

No word on when we can expect new music from the west coast MC.
