LAPD Officer Mary O’Callaghan was found guilty last Friday for slapping and kicking a handcuffed Black woman who later died in the back of her squad car. The jury saw a video of the assault and O’Callaghan’s callous treatment of the woman, stating it was enough evidence to convict the former officer.

After a lengthy investigation, it was determined that Los Angeles police officers were justified in the shooting death of unarmed Black man, Ezell Ford. Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck and the LAPD’s independent watchdog group looked at evidence that would have put Ford at fault.

Michael Brelo, the Cleveland cop that climbed onto a hood of a car involved in a chase and fired shots into the windshield killing its unarmed occupants, has been acquitted of manslaughter charges. Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams were shot and killed in November of 2012, with authorities unloading 137 bullets into the vehicle.
