Police shoot boy, 13, holding BB Gun

Police brutally and overaggressive behavior seems to continue across the country, as a 13-year-old boy was shot eight times by police in Chicago on Monday night.

According to reports, 13-year-old Jimmell Cannon was in serious to critical condition after being shot eight times by Chicago police officers, who said the boy was holding a BB gun.

Cannon's family deny police's reports, saying the boy was unarmed.

My Fox Chicago reports:

Police said they were called to the area at about 11 p.m.

Monday to investigate shots fired.

They saw the boy, who matched a description. Police said he had a weapon and refused to drop it when police told him to.

The boy's parents, Kenyatta Cannon and Jimmy Porter, said the boy wasn't holding anything and had his hands in the air when he was shot.

They said their family was attending a birthday party at Kenyatta Cannon's mother's house Monday night and Jimmel's little brother was with him when the shooting happened.

Jimmel's parents said the boy was supervised at the time of the incident, as well.

With varying sides to this story, we'll have to see how this story develops, and pray that 13-year-old Jimmell Cannon pulls through.

This shooting comes a week after police in Oakland shot and killed a man over a $2 bus fare. See that story here.

Looks like super groupie and sh*t starter Kat Stacks is at it again, this time it's not a rapper she is picking at.

Things appeared to get extremely heated after things hit the fan in the Anthony household as a result of Stacks sending a few flirtatious tweets to NBA star Carmelo Anthony last week, and his wife Lala caught a glimpse.

According to published reports, Carmelo Anthony decided to handle the situation and show that he doesn't play with his family.

Carmelo Tweeted the following reponse:

“I got 5k for whoever see @ihatekatstacks and slap the sh*t out of her pigeon faced a**. Real talk. U f**cked with the right one now.”

Not soon after, Carmelo's Twitter account was deleted with him later claiming it was hacked.

“Im back on! My account was hacked. Thanks twitter for getting me str8. Jst finished my first movie in China now im headed back to the States”

After the threat, Stacks; the mother of 9-month old baby boy, tweeted the following claim that the police are now involved in the situation:

"So the FBI getting involved since its an internet case. Just filed a police report on @CarmeloAnthony. Don't you ever put my life and my son life in danger!"

If charged Carmelo could face a conspiring to commit criminal acts charge.

Although it is unclear if Kat Stacks really filed the report or if Carmelo's Twitter was actually hacked, one thing is for certain, Kat Stacks better back up before she gets caught slipping again.

Body Of Las Vegas Woman Found In Clutter At Home

A Las Vegas woman that was reported missing for over four months was found…in her home.

According to published reports, 67-year-old Billie Jean James was reported missing by her husband and family in April.

Police report that the woman's home was so filled with clutter that they had to use the aide of cadaver dogs from a unit that helped locate bodies at ground zero after Sept. 11, to search the home with no luck due to stockpiles of clothes and other clutter.

It wasn't until her husband was rummaging through the home, that the body was discovered by accident.

Although the woman appeared to have died in her home, a spokeswoman says it could take weeks to determine when and how she died.

Now if the dogs worked 9-11 and found bodies, I think they dogs may need to be retired because it seems they are no longer adept at doing their job

The woman's husband has not been named as a suspect.

Timbaland's $2 Million Watch Stolen, Evaluated For Suicide Watch

Virginia bred producer Timbaland was the subject of a manhunt Tuesday (August 24) after his family feared he may be subject to taking his own life.

According to TMZ, Timbaland's family believed he was so distraught over the theft of a $2 million piece of jewelry that he might harm himself, so they notified law enforcement.

According to reports, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department put out a "possible suicide attempt" APB just before 5 PM PT yesterday. A helicopter and squad cars went on the hunt for the rapper/producer's Escalade.

Sources told TMZ that the frantic search began after Timbaland called his brother-in-law reportedly upset over a break-in at his Malibu home.

During the theft, the thief was able to walk away with a $2 million Jacob & Co. watch, among other items and to make matters worse, Tim suspects that he may know the perpetrator.

According to police reports, Timbaland left his home yesterday and began driving. Family members couldn't locate him and became extremely worried and called the Sheriff's Department.

After using a helicopter to aid in the search, police located the Escalade and ground crews pulled Timbaland over and began talking to him. After placing Timbaland in a patrol car, they escorted him to his residence, where they continued speaking with him and family members.

After deputies called for paramedics to come and evaluate Timbaland, it was determined that Timbaland was not a threat to himself at all and did not attempt to kill himself and left.

The Sheriff's Department is however investigating the theft of Timbaland's jewelry, and it is reported that they have found possible suspects.

An attorney for the family of the 7-year-old girl shot and killed by Detroit police is making allegations that police lied about the child's death and are trying to cover up their wrongdoing.

As previously reported 7-year-old Aiyana Jones was killed May 16 when police, who were taping for a reality TV show, burst into her family's home looking for a murder suspect.

Police claim that one of the officer's weapons accidentally discharged during a scuffle with her grandmother and hit the child in the neck.
Attorney Geoffrey Fieger is disputing those claims however and says that an independent autopsy proves that the child was not struck in the neck as reported, but in the head.

The attorney's allegations corroborate with a statement Jones' grandmother previously released to the Detroit News saying,

“They blew my granddaughter's brains out. They killed her right before my eyes. I watched the light go out of her eyes. I seen it."

Attorney Fieger held a press conference Tuesday surrounded by weeping members of the child's family and says that he has evidence that the fatal shot was fired blindly into the house through an open doorway.

He tells reporters,

“He pulled the trigger and shot into the house. That's not an accident. Why he did it, I can't tell you. What he was aiming at, I can't tell you. But, I can tell you it's not an accident.”

A police officer was found not guilty in the death of 73-year-old Bernard Monroe, an unarmed New Orleans man that was shot and killed during a family cookout.

A jury voted “no true bill” in the case, recommending that the case be not taken to trial.

The jury rejected a number of charges set to be placed on the officer including murder, manslaughter and negligent homicide.

12 witnesses gave testimony in a court room that Bernard Monroe, a cancer patient left voiceless from the disease, was unarmed when Officer Tom Cox gunned him down in February of 2009.

The older man was shot outside his home surrounded by at least 12 of his family members after Officer Cox and another officer went chasing after the man's son.
They claim Monroe appeared to have a gun in his hand before Cox shot him several times.

Both Cox and the other officer have since resigned.

Rev. Willie Young Sr., the leader of the local chapter of the NAACP, has since expressed his disappointment in the case, and he tells the Associated Press

“I am so disappointed. When you have 12 witnesses that say the man did not have a gun and he was gunned down by police, what are you supposed to believe. We are left with the belief that police in Homer have a license to kill.”

SMH.....they couldn't event take it to trial?

Where's the justice???

A long standing written exam for police officers looking to move up the public servant ladder is coming under fire after a group of minority officer called its basis into question.

A lawsuit filed by several minority law enforcement members believe that a test used to attain the rank of sergeant discriminated against Black and Hispanic test takers; minorities consistently score lower on the exam than their white counterparts.

Score over an eight year period, from 200 to 2008, were reviewed by the Justice Department to see if the claim held any validity.

Results rendered showed that only 73% of Black and 77% of Hispanic officer that took the exam passed while 89& of White officers were successful, allowing for an uneven promotion margin to be created.

Even when passing, minority officers were least likely due to the fact that promotions are granted to officer that have seniority accompanied by the highest test scores.

The lawsuit is demanding that the exam be discontinued as a promotion mechanism and that anyone adversely affected by it be given back pay, promotions, and retroactive seniority.

Except state police, every law enforcement system in New Jersey uses the same exam to promote officers.
