The public library systems for New York and the borough of Queens have launched new limited-edition library cards celebrating 50 years of Hip-Hop. The card for the New York Public Library features the mural from the movie "Wild Style", while the Queens card features a design from veteran streetwear artists The Shirt Kings.
The Queens Public Library has launched a new six-month program dedicated to celebrating 50 years of Hip-Hop. The program was made possible through a grant by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and it will be curated by Ralph McDaniels, the library's Hip-Hop coordinator and "Video Music Box" host.
Eric Adams and the City of New York will support the Universal Hip-Hop Museum in raising $50 million leading up to the opening of the Bronx museum.
