Lil Wayne was heavily criticized by the Hip-Hop community when crossing over genres for the release of his Rock inspired album Rebirth but despite the critics, the album went on to sell over 500,000 copies.

However, Weezy isn't hanging up his rock star title just yet.

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst revealed on twitter,

"Oh, excuse me, sixteenth song mixed is Ready To Go featuring Lil Wayne! …I love it."

The band had collaborated with Hip-Hop acts in the past, including Method Man, Redman, DJ Premier and Swizz Beatz. This collaboration will hold special value since this album will be the band's first album in eight years.

Raekwon is also rumored to appear on the album as well.

There is no release date yet speculated, but the album is allegedly titled Gold Cobra.

Already dropping off the visual for "Da Da Da" the next single to receive a video treatment is the politically driven cut "Runnin" feat. Shanell, off Rebirth.

Too funny how artists living among the free population can't even drop such consistent material than the imprisoned rapper.

Being under the radar for quite some time, singer Bobby V  has seemed to very quiet on the solo tip since the release of his 2009 album Rebirth.

Apparently the singer has been brewing up some heat behind closed doors as the singer teams up with DJ Drama and DJ Sense to drop the mixtape 60 Minutes.

With features from Lil Boosie, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj and others, Bobby V  even take a crack at tackling Jay Electronica's “Exhibit C”.

Although his songs still exist and there are enough music videos in store, the thought that he is gone still resonates for some.

Well, it seems that not even prison walls can keep the rapper from his fans as a new site, http://weezythanxyou.com/2010/04/02/letter-01-gone-til-november/, has been launched and Weezy has wasted no time in penning his first letter for all of his fans to read in order to give an update on his thoughts and what's still to come.

Love. Live. Life. Proceed. Progress. That's who I am and who I'll always be. You see, we're all living on borrowed time, so I'm not worried about this situation. Life happens quick. The more time you spend contemplating what you should have done…you lose valuable time planning what you can and will do. Trying to tear down the past prohibits you from building up your future. So for my time here, my physical will be confined to the yard. My love and my spirit, however, know no boundaries. I'm in good spirits man, for real. My kids race through my mind all day. They know they were created with love, so love is how their life will be defined. I just hope my love and adoration for them provides a temporary bandage on a wound I unknowingly inflicted on them.

Real soon, you can catch me blogging for ESPN again thank you espn for not letting my passion for sports perish. I work out a lot because it helps pass the time. I read the Bible everyday. Jail didn't make me find God, He's always been there. They can lock me up, but my spirit and my love can never be confined to prison walls.

But this isn't all about me, you are the reason for this letter. It's because of you Rebirth went gold when critics aborted it. It's because of you Young Money is and will always be a movement. The RIAA made the announcement today that Rebirth is certified gold and vastly approaching platinum status.

The album previously hit No. 1 on Billboard's Rap Album chart and reached No. 4 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Album chart.

Now although he's currently incarcerated in New York's infamous Riker's Island a statement from Lil Wayne has been released.

Speaking on Rebirth he says,

“I have evolved both lyrically and musically as an artist and I want everyone to hear my growing pains. This is probably my best work yet.”

Lil Wayne is set to be released from jail in March of next year.

Going from the performance on the 52^nd Annual Grammy Awards, fans can expect the smash “Drop The World” featuring Eminem on the upcoming release from Weezy.

Don't be fooled, however, by the montage you are about to see and expect to hear this Lil Wayne for the upcoming project.  Let's just say things will be a little different this go around.  It's Wayne's World.

Dropping No Ceilings showed fans Lil Wayne's return to rap, syrup-free, and has looked like the precursor as to what should be expected of Carter IV, which is scheduled to drop in 2010 as well, most likely after his sentence is almost up.

XY, the engineer for Lil Wayne, was able to drop a few bread crumbs for fans to follow in regards to the status of the fourth installment of Tha Carter series.

“Of course after Rebirth the Carter 4 is up next, he already has about 20 records for it done already."

Now for those that recall, the second was the album to bring him into prominence within the Hip Hop regime and the third was able blast him through the door of mainstream and pop, courtesy of “Lollipop”.

Only time will tell which face will show for the fourth time around once Weezy has served his time for the state and returned to reclaim his position again in rap.

In additional Lil Wayne news, New Orleans' finest is also in talks to drop his own signature headphones produced by Live Nation. The headphones will retail for around $20.

As previously reported, Rebirth was thought to have been pushed back to a new June 2010 release date.  That date is being disputed however and now the album is expected to hit stores February 2 as anticipated.

Instead of celebrating the release of his project, Wayne is expected to make a court appearance for those infamous federal gun charges and report to jail.

He is expected to serve a year.

I think they could've used that push back to June.
