The treasurer of the Republican National Committee is making headlines now that he claims that RNC Chairman Michael Steele is responsible for failing to report $7 million in debt the group accumulated over time.

Treasurer Randy Pullen accused Steele in a memo to RNC budget committee members Tuesday of failing to report the impending debt to the Federal Election Commission.

Pullen also says Steele and his chief of staff Michael Leavitt tried to hide the issue by instructing staff not to report to him.

RNC officials have since denied any claims of wrongdoing and RNC Communications Director Doug Heye has released a statement in their defense saying,

“We have always followed the guidelines of our legal counsel and treasurer and have put in place additional oversight to ensure that all invoices are handled in a proper, open and transparent manner.”

Independents everywhere, including myself, have had the privilege of watching several big wigs in the two major political parties suffer humiliating professional and personal defeats due largely to their sheer ineptitude, greed, and smugness.

One such figure, Michael Steele, is feeling the heat after members from within the Grand Ol' Party (GOP) have called for him to take what has been deemed as the defining tool to determine who is and is not a true conservative; a “purity” test.

Unwilling to bow to the wishes of his constituents, a close ally for the Republican National Committee Chairman is coming to the aid of his friend, saying that the test is nothing more than a well coordinated publicity stunt that was created by enemies of the party.

"You've got a few backbenchers who are unhappy," remarked Shawn Steel of California's RNC chapter to media. "They don't have the power they once had under the previous chairman, and that's what motivating this. This is an attempt to stick it to Chairman Steele by the losers."

The purity test is to be administered to all members of the RNC in an effort to make sure that all proposed candidates and party leaders meet ten core principles that define the party.

A revelation that says otherwise will mean political death for that person due to the party withdrawing its financial strength and aid of any type from the equation.

Ironically, distinguished Republican demi-gods such as Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush would have failed the purity test with flying colors.

RNC Under Fire For Racist Obama Picture

The Republican National Committee's Facebook page raised eyebrows after a racist picture appeared on the group's fan page. A “fan” of the committee posted a picture of President Obama eating a piece of fried chicken with a caption that reads:

“Miscegenation is a crime against American values. Repeal Loving v. Virginia.”

Miscegenation or the mixing of different racial groups was deemed unconstitutional in 1967 during the Loving V. Virginia court case. The court's ruling ended all race based legal restrictions on marriage.

The picture has since been removed from the site.

This has not been the president's first wave of Facebook bashing.

As previously reported a poll was posted on the site in September asking if the President should be killed. Users had the option to select yes, no, or maybe so.

That poll has been removed as well while the Secret Service investigates.

Lovely.

And you thought racism was dead?

For several years, the Republican Party has asserted that they are they party of the people, offering less than insurmountable evidence of the claim with every opportunity given.

Their latest testament to the cause, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, is a shining example of the beleaguered political faction's attempt at affirmative action but can hardly be seen as a beacon of ideological change.

Where the lame duck rhyming ignoramus of a figurehead failed, maybe a legend will succeed, a legend that everyone can unite under.

Picked against his will, leaders of the Grand Ol' Party have pegged famed baseball player Jackie Robinson as their “go to” guy, claiming that he was indeed, a Republican.

Listed at gop.com under their “Heroes” banner, site visitors will be greeted to a lesson in little known “historical” tidbits courtesy of the RNC.

16 famous Americans, including seven Black and one Hispanic American, are listed on the site as having been supporters of the conservative agenda.

Robinson, the man that broke baseball's color barrier, is one of the most famous yet least likely featured to actually be a Republican do mainly to the group's rich history of racial intolerance and bigotry. The late star revealed as much in his autobiography.

“I admit freely that I think, live, and breathe Black first and foremost…Every chance that I got, while campaigning (for Nelson Rockefeller), I said plainly what I thought of the right-wing Republicans and the harm they were doing…By and large Republicans had ignored Blacks and sometimes handpicked a few servile leaders in the Black community to be their token “ni**ers.” How would I sound trying to go out to sell Republicans to Black people? They're not buying. They know better.”
