In a recent chop session with Gowhere Hip Hop, RZA spoke briefly about a few of the projects he has on tap for 2012. The Abbot also gave Nas and Busta Rhymes their option of beats for their upcoming projects, providing a 500+ catalog to choose from. Hear what else the Wu frontman had to say regarding a new Wu-Tang Clan album.

An old Bobby Digital demo appeared on this week's 'Wu Wednesdays.' Catch the RZA, who was recently interviewed on Chelsea Lately, showing off his acting talents on the new season of Californication.

The RZA stopped by Chelsea Lately and explains the meaning "Bong Bong," talks about his role in the new season of Showtime's Californication, a possible Wu-Tang tour, and other interesting anecdotes. But host Chelsea Handler plays herself when she acts shocked that RZA and the Wu play chess when on the tour bus. Maybe she was just joking, but it was still suspect. Do some research next time.

Wu Tang's The RZA is continuing to rack up movie roles, this time in a controversial film by Quentin Tarantino.
As previously reported Will Smith and Idris Elba were said to be battling it out for the lead role in 'Django Unchained' that ultimately went to Jamie Foxx.

RZA will play Thaddeus, "a violent slave working on a Mississippi plantation."

Django unchained tells the story of a “freed slave who seeks to reunite with his slave wife, a journey which will see him team up with a German bounty hunter to take down an evil plantation owner.”

The film, which begins production in the fall, also may include Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz in key roles.

This Sunday VH1 will air Planet Rock, a documentary executive produced by rappers Ice-T. Snoop Dogg, RZA, Raekwon, Too Short and others, which relates the story between the crack generation and Hip-Hop.

The show is based on first-person accounts of many dealers-turned-rappers and also focuses on how crack changed America culturally, socially and politically.

The show also throws Rick Ross under the bus for jacking Freeway Ricky Ross' name, but we'll save that part for Sunday.

A preview of the show is posted below and tune in to VH1 this Sunday night, September 18th, on VH1 at 10 pm.

The RZA is the latest celebrity featured in an issue of V Magazine now that he's been nominated for their 'Heroes' issue by his good friend and collaborator Kanye West.

In the publication's fall issue, the Wu-Tang veteran reflects on his rap career as requested by Kanye who suggested him for the feature.

He tells V how he got his start working with The GZA who he met in 1976.

We were kids just doin' it. I was rapping over anything…Dr. Seuss, Mother Goose, anything[...] When I came into the biz, I wanted to Fawk up the game. I thought that other than some music from the '60s and '70s, everything was bullShyte. Rappers had nothing to say. R&B made me carsick. I never strived for dollar, but my ego was super-duper.”

Other celebrities who gave nominations for the issue include Drew Barrymore, Steven Meisel, Marina Abramovic, Jean-Paul Goude, Christina Aguilera, James Franco, Courtney Love, Missy Elliott, Antony Hegarty, Miley Cyrus, Yoko Ono, Jerry Hall and more.

10 Rappers Formerly Known As…

When we first heard about Mos Def's plans to retire his current moniker for a new name, Yasiin, it got us thinking.

Of course, Mos isn't the first emcee to change his name and he sure won't be the last.

We started putting together a list, although our good friends over at The Rap Up beat us to the post.
