Legendary rap label Rap-A-Lot Records, the home Scarface built, has announced the release of the long awaited 25^th Anniversary commemorative project, which will be available as a limited edition on December 6exclusively at Best Buy.

The Box set will include two discs of Rap-A-Lot classics, a DVD featuring interviews with various artists and industry executives and a third CD that features numerous Rap-A-Lot classic records covered by today's genre defining artists.

The hottest rappers came together to pay homage to the true pioneers and to one of the most significant imprints in the history of rap music.

The album features appearances by Lil Wayne, Birdman, Young Jeezy, Drake, Rick Ross, T.I., Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Yo! Gotti, Yelawolf, Trey Songz, Slim Thug and more.

Some of the tracks featured on the record include: Scarface "Money And The Power", The Geto Boys "Mind Playing Tricks On Me", Big Mike "Playa Playa," Do Or Die's "Po Pimp," and the list goes on.

Rap-A-Lot has also announced that only eight thousand copies of box set will be available exclusively at selected Best Buy locations.

Rap-A-Lot was founded in 1986 by J. Prince who put Southern rap on the map by releasing the Geto Boys, the label's first act. Since then, Rap-A-Lot has carved a perennial mark in the history of independent rap music. Rap-A-Lot recently released Houston rapper Z-Ro's critically acclaimed album Meth.

Sounds like a definite gift for any real fan of Southern Hip-Hop. It betta have some Tela up there too....

DMX Brings Out Scarface At A Show In Houston [Video]

Both recently released from jail, DMX brought out Scarface during his second post-prison concert last night at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas.

Making an appearance on stage, Scarface stood by DMX while X did a few prayers which was followed by Face saying “real Geto Boys stuff in a minute.”

“We here. You cannot blame that on science, God did that,” said Scarface. “We gon' come back with some real Geto Boys stuff in a minute. And we gon' let DMX rap. I'ma leave y'all with that, but like I said, go see God before he come see you. Aight?”

During the show, X performed cuts like “What These B*tches Want” and “Party Up” while shirtless, jumping into the crowd to pass around a bottle of Hennessy.

Scarface Locked Up for Child Support, Federal Charges

It seems that the real King Of The South is behind bars too.

According to XXL, Scarface has been locked up since October 13, 2010 and held without bail in the Montgomery County jail in Texas.

Charges include failure to pay child support in four separate cases and separate charges relating to a federal case that have not been revealed.

Damn... it seems the Geto Boys can't get a break.

Bushwick Bill barely escaped deportation last year and Willie D was convicted last year for wire fraud charges and sentenced to a year in jail.

Scarface Upset With VH1; Not Attending Hip-Hop Honors

What Southern artist ISN'T upset with the upcoming Hip-Hop Honors?

With Uncle Luke and Tony Draper in protest to the celebration of the “Dirty South” presented by VH1, Scarface is yet another name that has a problem with the program and has chosen not to attend.

Prior to the upcoming show, Face attended for the past two year, but now feels as though the South is being blatantly disrespected and are just getting it for pity.

During an interview with Ozone, the recently returned rapper spoke on the Minstrel Show-like tactics be used by the station.

“They're like, ‘Let's give these ni**as down there a pacifier so they can stop feeling left out. We'll make Luke and all these ni**as down there look funny,” you know? “Let's put a plate of fried chicken and some watermelon and let's just do some ni**a-a** shit.” (laughs) Quote, end quote. “Some ni**a-a** sh*t.” Fried chicken and watermelon. “Sh*t, the faster we get this over with, the better.”

While Face maintains that the idea was a great thought, he has also always stated that he never wants to be just looked at as a Southern rapper as his appeal has stretched farther out in his career.

“I don't wanna be classified as just “Dirty South.” I'm Hip Hop, man. I'm not going because I feel slighted. Even though it was a nice gesture, I feel like it's just a pacifier.”

Well damn...who from the South is actually going to be there for the show, that should be the question from this point forward.

For anyone else that might have still been in denial in regards to the return of the rapper known as Scarface, his comeback is coming into reality slowly, but surely.

Making the decision to return to the microphone once again, Face has come out of retirement and is already prepping his next release.

Creating his first mixtape ever, Dopeman Music, the rapper looks to show fans that the time away hasn't made him lose a step.

In regards to the actual project droppings, Hip-Hop can look forward to hearing Face much sooner than later as the upcoming mixtape will be released on May 4^th.

It seems that Face could be taken out of Hip-Hop, but Hip-Hop couldn't be taken out of Scarface. With Texas at somewhat of a standstill in music, it's good to see someone finally grab the wheel again.
