In honor of Biggie's 40^th birthday today, Hip-Hop Wired has compiled a list of so-called “old fogies” age 40 and over in the young man's sport of Hip-Hop that still smash microphones on the regular.

Are you ready to feel old? This August, Scarface's landmark album The Fix, will be turning a decade old. The Fix was Face Mob's first solo album under Def Jam Records as the president of Def Jam South. The classic album featured a young and hungry Kanye West behind the boards, and records with Nas and Jay-Z during the height of their much publicized battle.

The Fix also received the coveted "5 Mic" rating in The Source and featured records like "On My Block," and "Guess Who's Back." In this exclusive sit down with Hip Hop Wired, Scarface talks about the making of that album as well as his endeavors with Platinum League trading cards.

Holy crap, my ears. Soulja Boy released a song made almost exclusively on Casio strings called "Scarface," where he says the word Scarface 69 times. I'm serious, I counted. It's disgusting. Houston Rap Vet Scarface Talks Def Jam Exit, Promises Upcoming Rooted LP [LISTEN]

Launching his vaunted solo career 21 years ago, rap legend and Geto Boys co-founder Brad “Scarface” Jordan has amassed one of the most impressive rap catalogs of all time. Still considered by many a savvy and gritty lyricist, Face Mob continues to push on and proving that age in the rap game is just a number. Chicago radio station WGCI caught up with Face, and Chu of Darkside Music, and the Houston vet spoke on his split from Def Jam and promised a brand new LP as well.

Face, the former president of Def Jam South, was candid in his reasons for leaving the house Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons built. And it appears that a certain “King Of The South” could have landed on the label along with other big names. “I needed a bigger part of it, but they wanted to play like I wasn't bringing business,” said a slightly agitated Scarface. “Like everything that's hot right now, is what I brought it to Def Jam. From Rick Ross to T.I, Def Jam wouldn't touch T.I.”

Scarface and his Face Mob Music imprint are working in tandem with respected Houston label owner and CEO Tony Draper of Suave House Records, who was also present at the interview. Face revealed scant details regarding a new project Rooted, but was vague about the release only saying that it's coming “soon.” Face's last project was the 2010 mixtape Dopeman Music. His last official release was 2008's Emeritus.

Legendary rap label Rap-A-Lot Records, the home Scarface built, has announced the release of the long awaited 25^th Anniversary commemorative project, which will be available as a limited edition on December 6exclusively at Best Buy.

The Box set will include two discs of Rap-A-Lot classics, a DVD featuring interviews with various artists and industry executives and a third CD that features numerous Rap-A-Lot classic records covered by today's genre defining artists.

The hottest rappers came together to pay homage to the true pioneers and to one of the most significant imprints in the history of rap music.

The album features appearances by Lil Wayne, Birdman, Young Jeezy, Drake, Rick Ross, T.I., Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Yo! Gotti, Yelawolf, Trey Songz, Slim Thug and more.

Some of the tracks featured on the record include: Scarface "Money And The Power", The Geto Boys "Mind Playing Tricks On Me", Big Mike "Playa Playa," Do Or Die's "Po Pimp," and the list goes on.

Rap-A-Lot has also announced that only eight thousand copies of box set will be available exclusively at selected Best Buy locations.

Rap-A-Lot was founded in 1986 by J. Prince who put Southern rap on the map by releasing the Geto Boys, the label's first act. Since then, Rap-A-Lot has carved a perennial mark in the history of independent rap music. Rap-A-Lot recently released Houston rapper Z-Ro's critically acclaimed album Meth.

Sounds like a definite gift for any real fan of Southern Hip-Hop. It betta have some Tela up there too....
