As G-Dep sits in jail on murder charges, his former boss, Sean “Diddy” Combs, is still surprised by the whole thing.

Diddy stopped by Hot 97 to give his opinion on Dep's guilty verdict. “I was like, ‘Wow',” he told Funkmaster Flex. “None of that was in G. Dep's nature. When there were certain things that he was going through with the substance abuse situation, he'd be a different person, but on an everyday [basis], he was probably one of the nicest, most quietest, shyest, most humble cats that were out there. It was just so out of his character that it was mind-blowing.”

Dep, born Trevelle Coleman, admitted to shooting and killing John Henkel back in 1993. In a taped confession, the father of three said that he shot Coleman during a robbery attempt, but was unaware that the victim died. After confessing, Dep retracted his story claiming that he shot another victim. “After the main announcement, I had heard that he had retracted his confession,” Diddy continued. “I said, ‘Okay, maybe he was under the influence when he confessed.' Then out of nowhere, they said he was convicted and it's a shame because he's such a great talent and it all kind of stemmed from substance abuse.”

While in prison, Dep is said to be working on an autobiography. He faces 15 years to life, and will be sentenced on May 8.

A mentally ill man decided to make himself at home at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs' mansions, literally. The NY Post reports that Quamine Taylor of Jamaica, Queens entered Diddy's East Hampton crib via an open basement door and kicked it for 24 hours. Taylor went as far as to drink the mogul's liquor (the Ciroc was flowing) and wear his clothes (Sean John, maybe?).

Luckily Diddy wasn't home because Taylor is clearly out of his damn mind and someone would have caught the fade.

Cops said Taylor was so enamored of the music impresario's lifestyle that even the crime was a remix: Taylor already pulled the same stunt — at the same place — more than 10 years ago.

“I've actually been going to the house from time to time since 2001,” Taylor told The Post yesterday at the Suffolk County Jail.

“I stay there a lot, but Sean gets funny sometimes about me staying there,” Taylor said.

But but but wait it gets worse. Taylor tripped the alarm in Diddy's home at about 1am but convinced security and a cop that he was a family member. It wasn't until a caretaker spotted Taylor around 4pm on April 1 (you really can't make this stuff up), that this real life Chapelle's Show episode came to an end. Taylor was arrested, arraigned and held on $2000 bond.

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose has an extensive resume that include clients like Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige, but her career defining moment was convincing Sean "Diddy" Combs to wear a shiny suit in the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo Money Mo Problems" video. Ambrose credits her heritage for the idea to forsake common leather for shimmery attire.

"Well I'm West Indian, so metallic fabrics and shiny fabrics is what I grew up with in the West Indians for Carnival," Ambrose told MediaBistro's Media Beat. Hype Williams, the video's directly, originally wanted red leather, but was down for the metallic fabric. But Diddy needed to be persuaded.

“With the metallic suit it was [convincing] Puffy, this Hip-Hop artist, that this was going to be impactful and was going to change the face of Hip-Hop. I showed him the red metallic and he says, ‘I am not wearing that,'" recalled Ambrose. " I was like please trust me. I had to make one red leather outfit and one metallic leather outfit and… I won!”

Shiny suit man was born.

June Ambrose's VH1 reality series, Styled by June, debuts on March 19th at 9:30pm.

It was a busy weekend for the former Puff Daddy. The documentary is about a high-school football team in Memphis and the Hip-Hop mogul was one of its executive producers.

"God is the greatest!!!! Thank you! <s>#</s>undefeated !!!!," he tweeted after the win. "I am buggin."

The mogul known as Sean "Diddy" Combs has a portfolio that is a mile long. You can find everything from music and television producer to vodka pimping and restaurant owner on his resume. Now you can add minority owner of a cable network to that list.

After weeks of unconfirmed reports, Diddy took to his YouTube channel to officially announce his role as minority owner of the music-themed cable network known as Revolt TV. The network has initial plans to include social media in its influence of musical content rather than radio and Billboard charts and to give the artists the opportunity to show their videos raw and uncut. What it sounds like is Diddy plans to bring the internet and blog influence on music to televisions. As Diddy states in the YouTube clip “The revolution will be televised.”

"When I was growing up, I was watching television all the time — I used to wonder, 'Why don't those people look like me, or talk like me or walk like me?'” Diddy asks in the three-and-a-half minute clip. "I grew up watching BET and MTV and HBO and NBC, and I had a dream. I had a dream that one day I would get a chance, an opportunity to show my perspective coming from a musical standpoint.”

Diddy has also invited other cable providers from Direct TV to Time Warner to pick up the channel in the near future. For now, Comcast is the only provider onboard and the network has plans to launch at the end of 2012.

We're just wondering if this means that we'll see a Bad Boy takeover regularly on our televisions.

NBA Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs have both used their savvy in the worlds of sports and music, respectively, to launch successful entrepreneurial ventures. Now, Magic and Diddy have set their sights onto the world of cable television.

On Monday (February 20), Diddy got the jump on Magic by revealing his plans for a music-oriented cable station called Revolt today (February 21). Combs' aim for Revolt is for it to model the news and music angle that MTV and BET has dominated for years by using the fast-moving world of social media to influence its content. Revolt will be part of cable giant Comcast's vast network with Time Warner Cable also considering the station as part of its lineup.

In the wee hours of the morning, Magic Johnson revealed plans for Aspire, billed as a 24-hour station that will focus primarily on what the former hoops star called “positive and uplifting images” of African-Americans. The station is targeting Black viewers, tapping into the market built by competitors BET and TV One. In a phone interview with the Los Angeles Times, Magic Johnson was excited about the upcoming station.

“This is so exciting for me, I'm pinching myself," Johnson told the Times. "This is big for myself, for the African American community and the African American creative community. I wanted a vehicle to show positive images and to have stories written, produced and directed by African Americans for our community. Aspire—that's how I've been leading my life.”

Although both stations are looking to mix up their content, it appears that Revolt is aiming for a more diverse demographic while Aspire will firmly root itself to a niche audience.

Aspire has a scheduled launch date of June 30 while Revolt has aims to debut towards the end of this year.

Sean "Diddy" Combs was admitted to the hospital this morning for a severe migraine after performing hosting duties at a post-Grammy party in Los Angeles last night. The former "Puff Daddy," who was in town for the Grammys and to host an after party at the famous Playboy Mansion on Sunday night, developed a massive migraine shortly after arriving to his home, reports TMZ.

The headache was so severe the mogul's concerned entourage drove him to the UCLA emergency room for immediate treatment. Diddy is currently home recuperating and doing Hip-Hop mogul things, but a source has revealed the impromptu migraine was unrelated to his charity event at the Mansion.

Hopefully Diddy's health insurance covers oversized egos and neck pain.

If you didn't get an invite to Sean "Diddy" Comb's Grammy after-party, it's probably for the best. TMZ reports that tickets for the post-Grammy affair at the Playboy Mansion could cost up to $50,000 each.

However, the steep price is for a good cause as Diddy will be donating the proceeds from the luxurious party to the Angelwish Foundation, which benefits children with HIV/AIDS.

The cheapest tickets to the black tie event start at $1,500 and go from $15,000 to $25,000 depending on the service an attendee requires. $50,000 buys the Monster Cabana package, which includes buffet dinner, open bar, free bottle service and two cabanas for 20 VIP guests.

The 2012 Grammy's will be held on February 12 in Los Angeles and will be hosted by LL Cool J. Kanye West leads all artists with seven nominations.

French Montana raised plenty of eyebrows when he signed to Bad Boy Records. But according to the self-proclaimed Talk of New York, rolling with Bad Boy was a no brainer despite the label's well documented track record of disgruntled artists. Speaking to Real Talk NY, the Bronx rapper said he had his bases covered when it came to negotiating his contract.

“I find it kind of weird; how can somebody jerk you and they give you the paperwork for your lawyer to see,” said French. “It's not like they tricking you. It's not like them words get up in the middle of the night and change onthe contract. You just gotta get the best lawyers. Of course Puff going to have the best lawyers. So you need to get the best lawyers and make sure it works for you.”

Apparently, Fench's lawyers finagled new ground when it comes to artists on the Bad Boy Records roster.

“I think I'm the first person, and I ain't tell this to nobody, only y'all, I'm the first person in the whole history of Bad Boy not to sign my publishing to Bad Boy or Puff," he revealed. "Ya know, everything I asked for Puff kept his word.”

We're going to guess French, who Bad Boy debut Pardon My French is due later this year, didn't peruse those contracts over e-mail.
