Sean Kingston Stands Up For Maliah Michel

Sean Kingston has spoken out on his decision to date Drake's ex-girlfriend Maliah Michel.

The rapper who was injured in a jet ski crash earlier this year, made headlines last week after bringing the Houston stripper as his date to the American Music Awards.

Now after several publications accused him of picking up Drake's "sloppy seconds", Kingston's speaking out to defend his new woman.

Taking to Twitter in her defense, the Jamaican star wrote,

"Sloppy seconds? Not that at all...she is a great woman with a great heart that deserves the best in life ."

Maliah has yet to respond.

Sean Kingston Meets The Man Who Saved His Life In The Jet Ski Accident [Video]

After a near-fatal jet ski accident in May, Sean Kingston was reunited with the man who saved his life on the "Today's Show."

Off-duty Coast Guard rescuer, Jonathan Rivera, happened to be nearby and helped the 21-year-old singer after he crashed into a bridge in Miami.

The two met in person for the first time since the accident at Kingston's home.

“I want to thank you man. I love you, my brother,” said a grateful Kingston, who also underwent open heart surgery following the accident.

“It's a blessing. God is great,I feel like I'm blessed, overcome a tragic situation. Definitely trauma and for me to still be here, it's only God's work. I think my work is not done. It wasn't my time yet.”

Sean Kingston Talks Crash, Open Heart Surgery

Sean Kingston is speaking out on the near fatal jetskit crash that almost took his life in Miami.

As previously reported, Kingston was rushed to the hospital Memorial Day weekend after crashing a jetski in a serious accident that left him hospitalized.

Now he's speaking out for the first time on MTV First: Sean Kingston and explaining that he not only needed treatment for his inuries but had to have open heart surgery.

He tells Sway Calloway,

"A lot of people don't know it was a deeper situation. I had open heart surgery and I had two other surgeries; it was a life-or-death situation...They were gonna send me home, but then I had felt a pain in my left chest, and I told my mom. They rushed me and they did a lot of scans on me...They said I couldn't leave."

Kingston also suffered a broken jaw and wrist from the May 9 incident.

Sean Kingston To Talk Jet Ski Crash On "MTV First: Sean Kingston"

Sean Kingston is finally ready to open up about the serious jet ski accident that left him hospitalized in May.

The 21-year-old pop star will give his first interview since the crash during tomorrow's taping of “MTV First: Sean Kingston."

Kingston will sit down with MTV's Sway Calloway, and discuss the accident, his recovery and plans to get back to work.

Kingston has been recovering and was released from the hospital in June, but has yet to speak publicly about the incident.

A press release on the upcoming "MTV First: Sean Kingston" states:

"[Sean Kingston will] set the record straight about what caused the accident, discuss the extent of his injuries and detail his various medical procedures.

In addition, he'll reveal how the accident has inspired him to live a healthier lifestyle, discuss his weight loss, and share his preparations for returning to the stage and the studio.”

The interview airs tomorrow at 7:58 p.m. EST on MTV and MTV.com

Soulja Boy Turns 21

Soulja Boy celebrated turning 21 in a major way Friday with help from some of his celebrity friends.

The rapper who's denied reports that he bought a $55 million jet for the occasion, took Sean Kingston, Trina and rapper Gunplay to Miami's Club Play where they partied in V.I.P. with bottles of Ciroc and champagne.

Fans attending Nicki Minaj's opening show for Britney Spears' "Femme Fatale" tour at Miami's American Airlines Arena were treated to two surprises, as she brought both Sean Kingston and Trina on stage.

The performance was Kingston's first since a near-fatal jet ski accident in May left the singer/rapper in critical condition.

Kingston performed his single "Letting Go (Dutty Love)" on stage.

Trina also joined the party, as the Miami rapper spit her verse on the "My Chick Bad" remix. Minaj was on the original cut of the Ludacris track.

“Whoa! @TRINArockstarr and @SeanKingston just SHUT MIAMI DOWWWN w/me @ the Femme Fatale Tour!!! Thank u guys soooo much!!!!”

Photogs also spotted Nicki on the way into the American Airlines arena seemingly with her "assistant" Safaree Samuels. The assistant/hypeman was spotted walking behind Nicki with a special message on his shirt for the paparazzi after being accused of her assaulting her with a suitcase.

Sean Kingston Spotted At Video Shoot

Sean Kingston, has quickly overcome injuries he received during a Memorial Day jet-ski crash and is moving forward with his career.

Kingston was recently spotted in Miami over the weekend at a video shoot for singer Iyaz.

Soulja Boy and Travie McCoy were also on the scene.

The Caribbean crooner wore a noticeable brace on his left wrist but otherwise showed no visible signs of injury from the crash that sent him to the hospital in critical condition two months ago.

Saturday, Kingston tweeted,

“Love my life. The Lord blessed me with a second chance at life and [I'm going to] cherish it.”

Kinston was released from the hospital, June 21.

Sean Kingston's July 4th Recovery Party

Sean Kingston celebrated his recovery with a party at his Miami home on Independence Day.

Kingston, who suffered major injuries during a jet ski accident in May, spent close to a month in the hospital before being released late last month.

“Happy 4th of July to all my love ones out there be safe live it up and have fun… God bless…," Kingston tweeted.

"Time to get stuff ready for this BBQ today… it's going down at the Kingston mansion…"

He later tweeted, "4th of july party is popping at tha mansion niceeeee."

Rapper Soulja Boy also attended the party to help Kingston celebrate his recovery.

"Happy 4th of July this party at my bro @Seankingston mansion was stupid crazy!!," Soulja Boy tweeted.

Sean Kingston Nears Recording

Singer Sean Kingston is almost ready to return to the recording studio.

According to reports, Kingston, who was hospitalized for weeks after he suffered injuries from a jet ski accident on May 29th, will begin recording new music once he completes his physical therapy program.

TMZ states:

TMZ spoke with some of Sean's closest friends who tell us -- the hip-hop star is ADAMANT he won't start working on music again until he's 100 percent healthy. We're told Sean's biggest challenge is completing a physical therapy program for his wrist ... which could take several weeks.

As we previously reported -- the hip-hop star was hospitalized for a broken jaw, fractured wrist and water in his lungs after a jet ski accident in Miami on May 29 -- resulting in a three week hospital stay.

Sean's telling friends -- he knows he's come a long way since the accident -- but he wants to focus on his recovery before he gets back into music.

We're told -- the "Beautiful Girls" singer is super happy to be chilling in his home while he heals -- and is very happy to be sleeping in his own bed.

Kingston was released from the hospital in June and is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries.
