It seems like it's been forever since we've last heard from Nelly.  Although he's released material within the last year (5.0), he's dealt with several personal matters—losing his sister to leukemia in '05 and the murder of his cousin in '10, for example—which have undoubtedly clouded his focus.

However, after several recent  television appearances and side ventures, it seems like the St. Lunatic is fully back to the music.  Nelly hits us with O.E.MO: On Everything Mo, a 16 track offering features appearances by T.I., 2 Chainz, and of course the St. Lunatics.

Multi-platinum selling rapper Nelly is working on his next LP.

According to reports, the St. Louis rapper told the Today Show he's planning to release the follow up to his 2010 album, 5.0, later this year.

“I'll hopefully have a new album coming out at the end of this year. I'm going back in,” Nelly said. “The last album, 5.0, was phenomenal- ‘Just a Dream,” 4 million and things.”

While sales of his 5.0 album were low by Nelly standards, the album did feature the single "Just a Dream," which sold 4 times platinum, and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Nelly's upcoming album is currently untitled.

Nelly is also set to appear in a video for Keri Hilson's next single “Lose Control."

As previously reported, Slo Down claims that while Nelly was “eating,” his band mates were "snacking” and barely getting paid for their services.

“I might f*ck around and get emotional talkin' about all how that money was getting' split up, sh*t was crazy…N*ggas was eatin' and I wasn't one of them n*ggas. I was snackin'… I was lunchin', havin' lunch every now and then, and n*ggas was eatin' four course meals and ain't have sh*t to do with sh*t.”

Nelly has decided to fire back via Twitter against the allegations claiming that Slo Down was paid for doing nothing.

"I wish I could have made ova a half a mill dollars for just wearing a mask on stage!!!!!loldammm," Nelly posted. "I hate ungratefulness pimp!u don't write!don't rap!!u don't even stay in the studio till the song is done!still make a halfmil"

In addition to squelching claims of short changing, Nelly also put a halt to rumors that he was leaving rap for radio.

“I'm leaving rap?” Nelly Tweeted. “Where did u get that from??lol”

But everything was not about clarity; Nelly took some time to promote his upcoming fitness DVD and even dropped a few behind the scenes pics for fans.

“On the set filming my fitness DVD!! Let's get it!!”

Nelly To Take On Radio Hosting Gig At Hot 104.1 (WHHL-FM) In St. Louis

Michael Johson, 36, described as being the St. Louis native's “left-hand man”, was shot multiple times outside of a home.

Occurring on Wednesday night, St. Louis county police responded and were brought to the home located on Nola, near North Hanley, around midnight.

Now under investigation, there have been no arrests in connection to the murder, but authorities are on the hunt for the suspect and obtain some type of motivation for such a fatal attack.  Currently, they are retracing Johnson's movements of the last 24 hours in order to find where he was and what could have led to the shooting.

As it relates to the ongoing search, the rapper has refused to comment on the incident involving one of his closest bodyguards.

Update: Nelly has since responded via Twitter about the shooting of his cousin:

"Contrary to some reports micheal johnson wasnt my bodyguard! he was my cuzzen and my friend!! I will always luv n miss u MJ!!!!!"

With special appearances from the likes of Cincinnati Bengals' Chad Ochocino, along with support from the St. Lunatics Murphy Lee, the stage was set between Team Cash Money and Nelly's Derrty Ent.

Musical performances from Travis Porter and Tearirra Mari lit up the stage to keep the fans on their toes during the game.

Of course having the home team behind him, Bow Wow looked to be the fan pick for the outcome of the game.

The game left memorable crossovers for the highlight reel, but left the question: Who won?

As previously reported Nelly was in talks with police after his home was burglarized and his property was stolen.

Now moving on from the incident, he's focusing on his new album which will be released in the spring.

The artwork for the new album will feature Nelly alongside a customized 2011 Ford Mustang GT.

The Mustang was tricked out compliments of DUB magazine and features a gloss black exterior paint job, flat black racing stripes and 22-inch Pirelli tires in the front and 24-inch tires in the rear.

Speaking on his new affiliation with the muscle car, Nelly says he grew up talking about Mustangs and can appreciate the upgraded version he sees before him today.

"I don't care where you grew up, everyone knows the Mustang. At some point, you've had a conversation about a Mustang – and it was probably one about you wanting to get behind the wheel of one. I've always loved the Mustang; the vehicle has power to the point where you can't help but want to hit the pedal. And the newest one? More power, hotter style."

Nelly's new album is reportedly self titled and features production from Polow Da Don and Play-N-Skillz.

It has been reported that Nelly was not at home during the robbery and is in Atlanta this weekend at Lenox Mall. Fans that make purchases more than $75 of stuff at the Macy's located in Lenox Mall, are eligible to meet the rapper/actor as well as receive an autograph.

As far as the robbery, no other information has been released and the burglar is still loose. Out of all the things a rich celebrity would have in his house, you steal electronics and video games? Sounds like the culprit could be a Geek Squad worker.
