The Late Nate Dogg To Perform At Coachella As A Hologram

In some of the weirdest news of the week, gossip site TMZ broke news of a rumor that late West Coast hook provider Nate Dogg will make a posthumous appearance at the Coachella music festival this coming weekend. It appears that Dr. Dre wanted a true reunion of his former collaborators onstage Sunday evening, and the legendary producer is said to be using the same technology singer Mariah Carey used last year to beam images in five different locations in Europe.

Dre and his longtime ally and former protégé Snoop Dogg will headline the festival and will bring along Tha Dogg Pound duo Kurupt and Daz Dillinger and Warren G (who was in a group with Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg). TMZ reports via sources that Nate's image will be broadcast with the rest of the crew, making him appear to be a part of the big show. Several songs are slated to be performed by Nate as well, if the rumors hold true. Sadly, Nate Dogg passed away at the age of 41 last March due to stroke complications, leaving a massive void in the musical landscape.

We all miss Nate Dogg's silky baritone as much as the next person. But how does this go over with the rest of the Hip-Hop nation? Is this too much too soon?

Snoop Dogg Announces New Album

Snoop proved he's still got the skills that's made him one of the greatest MC's of all-time when he completely annihilated the freestyle session on The Come Up Show. Shortly thereafter he released some new music alongside Tha Dogg Pound, "Make It Hot," who will be releasing both an album, Alumni, as well as the D.P.G.C'OLOGY mixtape.

Now the Doggfather is moving forward with his own work, and took to Twitter to make the announcement of his new studio album.

While we await a release date on the project, we can surely look forward to the Vice Party Legend, providing entertainment in all forms. More specifically, giving advice on relationships, as he did with NJ Nets Forward, Kris Humphries, after his recent divorce with Kim Kardashian.

Adidas: Respect The West Ft. Kendrick Lamar, YG, Dom Kennedy & Casey Veggies

After helping launch the Originals 2011 Adidas Boot Collection, Kendrick Lamar headlined a showcase of young rising stars call Respect the West. Each of the featured artists is making a fair share of noise in the industry and simultaneously playing a huge part in West Coast Hip-Hop's' resurgence.

The showcase originated two years ago at the SXSW Musicfest in Austin, Texas, via Adidas Originals & the Cashmere Agency. Since its creation, the showcase has grown exponentially and played host to the likes of: MURS, Warren G, DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, Mistah F.A.B. and Snoop Dogg, as well as up and comers Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Pac Div.

In addition to this showcase, several of these young artists are currently candidates for XXL's 2012 Freshmen Class, which is a testament to their hard work and dedication. Here's a video recap of this year's showcase.

Paid Dues Fest 2011: Murs Black Star, Immortal Technique

Cali rapper, Murs and Guerilla Union announced the acts scheduled to perform at the sixth annual Paid Dues Festival on Saturday, April 2nd 2011 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California.

Bun B, Black Star, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, Asher Roth & Nottz are some of the names gracing one of the Paid Dues stages.

On another stage, the based God, Lil B, Bay area-veteran, E-40, former XXL magazine freshman, Nipsey Hussle and Murs himself will headline.

This year, a "Grind Time Now" stage has been added to the festivities. Not only will fans get to see Slaughterhouse, Chino XL and Blu & Fashawn go in but battle rappers such as Dizaster and Dirtbag Dan are on the bill.

For those unfamiliar with Grind Time, it is a league famous for putting rappers against each other in a timed, battle arena. This Paid Dues show is looking to surpass its predecessors.

Known for bringing together some of the best underground and mainstream hip-hop acts for a full day of live performances, Murs and Guerilla Union have successfully pulled off great showcases of talent for the last five years.

2010's festival included Raekwon, Jay Electronica, Tha Dogg Pound and hip-hop legend, Ice Cube to name a few.

Ice Cube, Jay Electronica, Raekwon Headline Paid Dues Festival

California's Paid Dues Festival is an even uniting various mainstream and underground acts in Hip-Hop. For the 2010 version of the annual event three heavyweights have been added to the lineup; Raekwon, Jay Electronica and Ice Cube.

Kwon and Jay Elect will join the Hip-Hop veteran at this year's fest when it takes place this spring at San Bernadino's Nos Events Center.

While Jay and Cube have signed on to give solo performances Raekwon has opted to be joined on stage by Tech N9Ne.

Following Kwon and Tech N9Ne on stage will be Daz Dillinger and Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound right before Jay Electronica hits the stage.

Also slated to perform is Murs who'll be joined by super producer Ninth Wonder, Dom Kennedy, Curren$y, Freeway & Jake One and Dilated Peoples.

Hosted by Angela Yee and DJ Wonder, 2010's Paid Dues Festival takes place April 3.

Big Snoop Dogg will be checking in with Hip-Hop Wired this week as he heads out on his “Wonderland High School” tour kicking off Tuesday in Baltimore, Maryland.

The tour is in preparation for the release of his 10th studio album, Malice N Wonderland, dropping December 8, 2009.
