The younger half of VA rap group the Clipse, and a soloist on Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music, Push A Ton's latest single "Exodus 23:1" is thought to be a not so veiled diss towards Drake. The track even inspired a "Fuk Pusha T" reaction from Lil Wayne. MTV News caught up with Push to talk about his recording work with R&B crooner The-Dream and coincidentally how the RicoBeats produced "Exodus 23:1" kicked off their working relationship.

"It really started as far as I went with this beat from Rico. We were like, 'Yo, Dream would just sound amazing on the record, period.'" recalled Pusha. "So we sent it out and it came back so quick... Personally, I never thought the record was going to come back this quick."

During an interview with the UK'ss The Guardian, the The-Dream said that R&B musician's stateside aren't doing soul music anymore because it doesn't sell. “It's called rhythm and blues; they just took the blues out of it for so long," said The-Dream. "What's crazy is that blacks can't do soul records any more. We love Adele singing it, but Beyoncé singing it? No.”

He has a point there. However, artists like Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, and many more, might have something to say about such a sweeping statement.

So when The Dream took his Cut Kill The Lights Off tour through the media capital of the world, the Grammy-Award winning artist let his feelings known about numerous artists biting his style. Although The Dream never named names, all clues pointed toward the Canadian crooner. “I haven't done a show in close to two years. And ever since then, there's like, four n*ggas that sound like me now. I'm just being honest,” The Dream said to a sold-out SOBs crowd in New York City. After this, it didn't take The Weeknd long to respond. "Hamburglar lookin' A$$ N***a," The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye tweeted last night. "All I need are my brothers and my fans. Fawk the bullShyte. This N***a is so hood, he thinks my name is The Weekender. I was raised old fashioned, you get at me, I get at you.  Ain't no sideways Isht about it."

The Dream responded " Like my father said, 'say your piece son. If a man feel uncomfortable enough a cheat, and a liar will identify [himself.]' Amen. Now I know for sure," he began. "I said I was honest not petty.  I'm going to support the movement where if you can't say it in person don't say it. Nothing but love from here lil' homie. Don't get fooled or tricked and try to come up on a N***a like me , won't work just do you if you truly are then what we talkin about. Now I'm going to leave it at that. "

Mr. Nash also went on to offer apprenticeship in a few tweets, offering to call his phone and talk things out and shot down any rumblings of a brewing beef by giving The Weeknd props. "Y'all better quit hypin niggas up. [You] can't beef by yourself. Beef would have to mean insecurity [or] jealousy. Two things I know nothing about, I'm dope! Like I said, I think the world of the boy and nothing will change that. He's very talented and it's nothing for me to say that. [There isn't] enough R&B to beef and its no fun ballin' by yourself. Restore order."

The Weeknd will be making his live American debut this year at the Coachella festival from April 13th to the 15th while The-Dream is gearing up to release his fourth album The Love, IV: Diary of a Madman on his birthday, September 20th.

Of course the Atlanta native has linked with rappers in the past, but in a new interview with Vibe.com, the self-professed Radio Killa revealed that he's tapping into the holy grail of Hip-Hop collaborations by working with Jay-Z.

"We've already done something, we've done a couple things," The-Dream told VIBE, while failing to elaborate on exactly what kinds of things he and Hov are cooking up. Seeing as how he's worked with Mrs. Carter in the past, getting Jay's stamp of approval seems like an obvious move, but as far as a release date is concerned, perfection takes time. "It's coming, can't rush the wine. Whenever he wants to do it, that guy, you never know."

One subject that Dream wasn't so tight-lipped about was jumping in the studio with Rihanna for the "Birthday Cake" remix. The music world has been up in arms with the Bajan beauty for her decision to allow Chris Brown to share billing on the track. While Rih Rih is brushing her haters off—taking to Twitter to address the madness from time to time—according to The-Dream he was just as confused as everyone else.

"My initial reaction was like Okaaayyy... not in no bad way or whatever," he said. "Rihanna is pretty smart and she knows what she doing, she knows what she wants to do and I'm behind her 100 percent in whatever it is she wants to do and I don't really care about the......she's not harming anybody. It's not really a care of mine to somebody who's going to speak on it in whatever way, it only matters to me how she feels about what it is she's doing and for me to try and facilitate that the best way I can."

That's his story, and he's sticking to it.

Of those acts soon to put out new product, Virginia rhyme slinger Pusha T's signing with Def Jam last summer led to the pair working alongside each other for the Clipse rapper's as-yet-untitled debut on the storied label. The-Dream breaks down their musical alliance, and promises it will be ready to drop soon.

“Yeah. We found a little magic. We did, like eight, nine records together. It sounds really, really great. I've always loved him and loved the Clipse. Always been a big fan, so when the opportunity came, we did this one record called “Automatic” and it just took off from that,” said The-Dream in an interview with Complex.

The-Dream has to await clearance from G.O.O.D. Music honcho Kanye West before giving the album a stamp of approval. “Yeah, Kanye will listen to it in the upcoming days and we're going to try to decide what we need and what's missing, which is probably like two or three records—which we probably already have. It's at the end of that.”

Hopefully, Pusha T will get to employ his infamous “eghck” adlib at will.

After previously announcing its delay, The Dream has announced his next album's release date.

The singer/songwriter took to Twitter to reveal news on his project and confirmed that Love IV would hit stores this March followed by his Love V album.

Speaking to fans he wrote,

"BTW Started to Concept "LOVE FIVE". should start on it in March. Love IV date is MARCH 20th! i want to take a real Vacation in 2013."

 

In addition to speaking on Love IV, The Dream also announced plans to finally release a video for his song "Nikki" and a movie he says will costar Big Sean.

"So i want to try to do as much as i can in 2012! so Love IV, LOVE V,1984, Nikki and a Movie With my NIGG @BigSean includin a soundtrack...Should be done all in 2012 "RADIOKILLA RECORDS WHY BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT THE Fawk WE DO!" THELOVECULT MY FANS ARE THE REALEST PEOPLE ON EARTH."
