With his hard work on the verge of finally paying off and the career of Gucci Mane finally about to blow, the rapper was a victim to a major misstep, due to poor decisions, that landed him behind bars.

On November 12, 2009, La Flare was sentenced to 12 months behind bars for violating probation, only a month before his album The State vs. Radric Davis dropped.

Having his sentenced downsized to six months, Gucci Mane has been able to reflect and choose the next move he will make once he is free once again.

Speaking with the Associated Press, the rapper left assurance that he would not find himself behind bars again and would be more conscious of the moves he makes.

“Before I make an action, think about the consequences. ... Any decision I make is a heavy decision. I got a lot of people who depend on me. Everything I do has so much weight on it.”

The rapper also spoke on life within the cell and the response he has been given from fellow inmates in Fulton County.

“It's a great response. ... So I try to take a couple of these young guys under my wing and tell them what I've learned, because you can't teach nobody if you don't know anything.”

As expected, his time away has hindered his interaction with the public and hasn't helped in terms of promotion, but he has added that he has used his sentence as time to continue creating music.

“With money and selling CDs, I can always do that. I believe I can make all the money I've missed the last six months. But I can't regain the time with fans and family.

Unfortunately I've been to jail a couple times. Anytime I come in it's difficult to make music, write songs. This time, I have a peace within me. I've been so excited to get out. I've written about 50 to 60 songs.”

Expected to be released in April, Gucci wants fans to expect the release of The State vs. Radric Davis: The Appeal and The State vs. Radric Davis: The Verdict later this year.

IT'S GUCCI!!!

Not even a cell could hold Gucci Mane as he continues to try and conquer the Hip-Hop world.

Teaming up with DJ Holiday, La Flare is picking up where he left off with the release of The Burrprint 2, which is a follow up to his biggest mixtape of 2009.

Looking to keep his name relevant while doing his bid in prison, this project will be the first installment to a series of commercial mixtapes coming from Gucci.

Gucci Mane feat. Ludacris - Atlanta Zoo

Consisting of 24 tracks, look for the project to be released on April 13 and features big names such as Trey Songz, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, Yo Gotti, Ludacris and many others.

“Many of my fans know me from the massive amounts of mixtapes I've released over the years,” says Gucci Mane, currently serving a 1-year sentence for a parole violation. “The Burrprint 2 mixtape is just something I wanted to put out there as a thank you for all those who have stuck by me through my incarceration, all those who have written letters, this is for you… I will be home soon.”

The 24-track tape will feature all new songs from the rapper.

“Gucci called me from Fulton County and told me to start recording,” says DJ Holiday. “He busted a hot verse right there on the phone and that's what you hear on the record, with the 1-minute automated warning and all, ‘you have one minute remaining', it's so real.”

The series will also serve as a building block to his next album. Dropping The State vs. Radric Davis before getting locked up in 2009, Gucci will be creating The Appeal, which is scheduled to hit stores over the summer.

“I also recorded a CD to be released right before I come out called The Appeal of the State vs. Radric Davis. I had to leave my fans with something because they've been supporting me through the tribulations and trials I've been going through in my life.”

Although down, Gucci Mane is never out of the game. Fresh off the release of The State vs. Radric Davis, Gucci is already making his next moves once he steps outside of the prison walls.

Appropriately titled The Appeal, the next album from the rising rapper is set to be released once he is released from his current bid.

The buzz must have fed his ego with two CDs already waiting for the world.

While behind the prison walls, La Flare was able to speak on Big Boy's Neighborhood and give some more detail on the story behind his latest album.

“I'm a very hard worker and I always try to outwork every artist in the industry. With that being said, I recorded so much music and did so many collaborations. I recorded two CDs before I even went to jail. I already got an album that came out December 8, The State vs. Radric Davis and it's doing exceptionally well and it details all that I've been going through with the legal system.”

With the beef officially dead between Gucci and Young Jeezy, the rapper elaborated on the need for the two to put their differences behind them and the fact that it was much bigger than them. Both residing in Atlanta and having such a strong following, they had to play as role models to make sure their problems didn't spill out to affect those that support them.

“Before the interview had came out, we had collaborated. Before the interview came out, we had been talking and came to a mutual agreement to co-exist with each other. The city ain't but so big and both of us got so many people that run up under us that it's kinda selfish to say that we traveling the world and making all this money and people in our crew are on the front lines. I know with me personally, I didn't want that on my hands so I did it for me as well my team.”

The two collaborated before for the track “So Icey”, and Gucci assured fans to look out for more with one already dropping recently.

“We already collaborated on two songs. One is already out and one is debuting in a couple of weeks.”

Gucci Mane is taking his time away in stride and not looking at things as the end, but as a brief intermission before he can start the show up once again.

“Black Tee,” “Trap House,” “Go Head,” “Freaky Gurl,” “Icy,” and “Bricks” are but a mere sampling of what Radric Davis planned to feed the world. All the aforementioned tracks are southern classics that still get burn in many clubs and nightspots nationwide, but for Gucci Mane LaFlare, such success was not nearly enough.

The State vs. Radric Davis is Gucci's first attempt at bringing his trademark drug flow and braggadocios street certified tales to a mainstream audience. Gone are the days of hole in the wall performances; all that remains are the trappings of a burgeoning rap titan, a bonafide star. Ascending the mantle of today's Hip-Hop higher echelon currently occupied by fellow Atlien's T.I., Ludacris, & Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane is bringing some of his most diverse work to date in his latest offering.

“Classical (Intro),” the album's first track, is an introduction to the So Icy Boss for listeners that may not be familiar with who Gucci is. Like its name suggests, the track features classically styled singers backed by piano chords and string arrangements that combine to give a sense of regality to the lyrics amiably laid on the song. Following the intro is a hilarious interlude that sees Gucci recruit funny man Mike Epps for what can only be described as 1 minute and 14 seconds of hilariousness, after which, LaFlare serves up three consecutive hood-targeted cuts, seeing him hook up with the likes of Cam'ron, Lil' Wayne, and Rick Ross.

Every track that follows, starting with “Lemonade,” are clearly designed for Gucci to flex his lyrical range, delivering songs that partner the southern rhyme slinger with unlikely artists such as Usher, Bobby Valentino, and Jason Caesar. After a relaxing change of pace its back to business as usual as arguably tired gutta stories are given new life with new era digital musicality.

All in all, The State vs. Radric Davis is an album that will appease longtime Gucci Mane fans as well as anyone that may not be familiar with the East Atlanta/Zone 6 don. With excellent production throughout the album and several good tracks that make for decent car listening, for all intent and purposes, The State is just not as good as it is being marketed to be.

I would even go as far as calling it a glorified mainstream mixtape. Even so, it is a good listen and is worth a download…. A FREE download.

“I think there were a lot of misconceptions about me , but I can understand why it was like that because people didn't know me, I wouldn't let them in my world."

There was a certain point in time, believe it or not, when rapper Gucci Mane wasn't in high demand as he was on his come up in the music world. Outside of his collaboration with Young Jeezy back in the day on “So Icey” , La Flare has always seemed to be an artist that preferred to keep to himself.

Recently, however, the feeling must have changed as Gucci has almost become the new Lil Wayne due to the fact that a person can't go anywhere without hearing the rapper featured on a rap record. He has even stretched his wings and aligned himself with R&B.

From Outkast's Big Boi to Juelz Santana to Cam'Ron, the Georgia native is almost untouchable and can do no wrong on a track as artists across the country are looking to work with him.

He's even created a high demand for his crew as OJ Da Juiceman is another rapper being utilized by big names.

Although Gucci is currently dealing with a prison sentence stemming from probation violation, luckily with good behavior, he will be able to return within six months and continue to find his way in infiltrating the mainstream.

La Flare was able to speak with Miss Info where he revealed how he initially came into the game in regards to him working with others stating that he was more attracted to the underdogs of the music industry.

“Very isolated person as far as musically or industry wise. I kind of look down on being major or major artists. I look up to and respect the more independent person, paying out their pocket and running their own show. That's where I came from.”

Now that he has exploded onto the scene, however, things have changed as everybody seems to want to be on Team Gucci. Realizing that there is such a high demand, he only feels that it makes sense and is aware of the fact that his buzz can only bring buzz to these other artists that affiliate themselves with him.

“By me never reaching out to them, they didn't have no clue what I would say or think and then as my stuff started to pop, not to say that they jumped on the bandwagon, it was just a smart choice. South is on the rise and if I was on the rise and fell off, I can get this to take me back up there or if my stuff on the rise too, we can go at the same time.”

Whether artists are trying to ride the wave of success that is Gucci or just have a general interest in collaborating, one thing is for certain and that is the fact that Gucci has been able to claw and crawl his way from the underground to establish his dominance in Hip Hop. As he sits behind a jail cell, he can only expect even more opportunity once he is freed from incarceration.

While Gucci Mane remains incarcerated in a Fulton County jail, plans to get his album on store shelves are still proceeding.

As previously reported, Gucci's The State V.S. Radric Davis album will be released in December despite his upcoming 1 year stint in jail for violating his probation and testing positive for cocaine and marijuana. Now as the date approaches, the official tracklisting for the finished product has hit the net.

The album is amped up with features from seasoned vets in the game like Lil Wayne, Trina, Bun B, Devin The Dude and E-40, yet Radric still manages to make space for his ‘So Icey' affiliates Wocka Flocka and OJ Da Juiceman.

One of the most surprising features on the album comes from none other than the ex-girlfriend of his arch nemesis, Keyshia Cole. Whether intentional or just a coincidence, how convenient is it that Mr. Davis managed to get Jeezy's ex squeeze on his project?

Check out the rest of the tracklisitng for Gucci Mane's The State V.S. Radric Davis below.

01. “Classical” (Intro)

The State V.S. Radric Davis could not have been a better title for Gucci Mane's debut album.

His infamous run-ins with the law have reached a boiling point, and he's currently in jail after being sentenced to 365 days behind bars. According to a rep for his label, Gucci was arrested Thursday and immediately taken to prison for violating his probation. Just last year, Gucci found himself locked up, this time for failing to perform over 600 court mandated community service hours.

The State V.S. Radric Davis is still scheduled to drop Decemburrr 8.

Damn Gucci! First T.I., then Boosie, then Wayne and now Gucci?!

One thing's for sure, when TIP gets out, he'll have no competition.
