Young Roddy
Get ready for a lyrical onslaught that’s become rare in the age of mumble rap and Hip-Pop as Curren$y, Trademark Da Skydiver & Young Roddy link up to drop bars like a clumsy Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
Curren$y did more than hint at plans to release a mixtape sooner than later during our conversation at the 2013 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards. It took a little longer than expected, but the Jet Life general has liberated Bales.
“Occasionally I make a song or two,” said Curren$y modestly at the 2013 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards. There we briefly spoke to the rapper about his recent deal with BitTorrent that delivered the Jet Life mixtape, Red Eye.
As promised, Curren$y and The Jets return with their Red Eye mixtape via BitTorrent for your listening pleasure. Piraters of all things digital are undoubtedly well versed on torrents, but those who aren’t may want to get abreast of this new way of sharing content, stat.
Curren$y maintains a level of omnipresence on the Internets that keeps him more relevant than most. Proof can be heard on his latest release, “Grizzly,” featuring Young Roddy.
Young Roddy drops off a video for “504 Radio” featuring female spitted 3D Na’Tee.
Just before Jet World Order 2Â releases, fans get the project’s third single “Money Gramz,” featuring Curren$y and Jet Life affiliates Trademark Da Skydiver and Young Roddy. Synths and dumping 808s run rampant throughout the AJ Beats-produced track, providing just the soundtrack for each MC to talk their ish.
