Martin Lawrence may be coming back to prime time television. Deadline reports that Lawrence is set to star in a pilot where he plays a construction worker, a widower with two children. CBS TV Studios will be producing the project and it will be written by Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger ($#*! My Dad Says, How To Be A Gentleman)

Besides the prospect of raising two daughters alone, Lawrence’s character is also set to join the police academy at the age of 46 after losing his construction gig. Having the Bad Boys and Big Momma’s House actor back on network television sounds like a win—the last season of Martin was in 1997—and CBS could definitely use some more “color” in their programming. Just please don’t put Marty Mar in a dress.
