What happens when you link Snoop Lion with comedian/rapper Destorm Power and a life-size Hot Pocket? You get one of the cheesiest endorsement jingles to ever grace the earth. For their new Hot Pockets campaign, the good folks at Nestle enlist Snoop Dogg and Destorm to remix his 2004 hit single, “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” for an ode to the cheesy goodness of Hot Pockets with, “Pocket Like It’s Hot.” The commercial/ music video, which also features Andy Milonakis and WWE Superstar Brodus Clay, showcases the rapper microwaving a Hot Pocket in an all grey room, when suddenly the Hot Pocket comes to life as Herbie Hot Pockets, a pimp coat wearing hip-hop-ish dancing mascot.

Snoop Dogg isn’t the only artist to indulge in the hip-hop jingle game. While songs like Run-D.M.C’s “My Adidas” pushed them to the forefront of hip-hop, others haven’t been so lucky. As we can all remember, Mary J. Blige reworked her single “Don’t Mind” for the now infamous Burger King crispy chicken wrap fiasco, which resulted in the ad being pulled and her single overlooked. In 2008, Memphis Bleek also lent his talents to a Garnier Fructis ad with Code Green, which suffice it to say, didn’t end well. All in all Snoop is just having fun and making us laugh while he makes more money. You can check out the ad below.
