Even Hurricane Sandy couldn’t stop Meek Mill from making an impressive impact on the charts. The Maybach Music Group rapper’s proper debut album, Dreams And Nightmares, will come in at #2 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart.

Hits Daily Double reports that the Philadelphia rapper’s new album has sold a bit over 167,000 units its first week in stores. However, like Kendrick Lamar the previous week, that number is only enough to land him at #2 on the sales chart with Taylor Swift’s Big Machine album holding on to the #1 slot with over 333,000 units sold in its second weeks in stores.

Late last week, the “Amen” rapper released a statement on how he felt with his album being released in the wake of Hurricane Sandy ripping through the east coast. “My focus wasn’t on stores being closed,” said Meek. “I had a packed house, filled with my family, making sure they were good during this storm. I made a great album and it will sustain itself. Real people do real sh-t; my fans will buy the album when they are able to.”

Rain or shine, plenty of folks still got their Meek Mill fix.
