Snoop Dogg is teaming up with Internet security company, Norton, to fight the ongoing issue of cyber crime.
The Long Beach rapper is the latest advocate for protecting sensitive information online and recently appeared alongside Norton representatives in New York to promote the cause.
Speaking on cybercrime Tuesday, Snoop tells the HuffingtonPost,
“I’m here spreading the awareness of cybercrime. I don’t tolerate it. I’m not with it.”
Also in attendance was Norton representative Dave Cole who spoke out on Snoop’s participation saying,
“There’s this feeling that the victims aren’t real and it doesn’t really happen. So bringing somebody like Snoop on who’s saying, ‘Look, this is a giant pain for me, I’ve been a victim,’ that’s gonna get somebody’s attention.”
In addition to speaking on the dangers of cybercrime, Snoop is hosting the “Hack Is Wack” rap video contest, giving one lucky fan a chance to meet the Doggfather in person.
Participants can upload a 2-minute rap video on cybercrime topics including viruses, hacking and identity theft to HackIsWack.com through September 30, 2010.
Snoop and his management will pick a winner who’ll attend his concert in Los Angeles and be given a laptop equipped with the latest Norton Security.
