Kim Osorio Named Editor-In-Chief of The Source Magazine

In a press conference held in New York City at the Muse Hotel, Kim Osorio was announced as the new Editor-In-Chief of The Source Magazine.  The NorthStar Group and publisher L. Londell McMillan also added that Osorio will be the VP of Content & Editorial for Jones Magazine.

It will be Osorio’s second stint at the storied Hip-Hop magazine. The Bronx native worked at that magazine from 2000 to 2005, and became its first female EIC during her tenure. She left on less than favorable terms, eventually filing a s*xual discrimination lawsuit against the magazine.

“It feels very exciting, rewarding but it’s a very personal thing for me to come back to The Source because it has always been a part of me and my career,” says Osorio. “So it feels good.”

In September 2008, Osorio released her memoir, Straight From The Source: An Expose From The Former Editor In Chief of the Hip Hop Bible, which detailed her time at the magazine.
