It’s been a long time coming for music’s “illest pitbull in a skirt.” First taking time out of the game  to work on her acting career, Eve’s foray back into rap hasn’t been without a few roadblocks. Discrepancies with her label Interscope Records, led to the Philly native jumping ship and heading over to EMI, but as she preps the release of her long-delayed Liplock album, she’s had another label switch. “I left EMI, now my deal’s through Sony Red, still independent, the album will be out next year,” Eve tells Hip-Hop Wired.

The 33-year-old took the stage at this year’s Rock the Bells concert in San Bernardino, Calif. over the weekend performing alongside DMX. The Ruff Ryders haven’t shared a stage in well over a decade, and jumped back into the swing of things like no time passed. “I gotta say, first of all I’m just happy to see him,” Eve added prior to their set. “That’s my dog. We haven’t been on stage since 2001, 2002 maybe.”

E-V-E also updates us on her single release date, and gives us the status on her relationship with Maximillion Cooper.

Check out the entire interview after the jump.
