Everyone loves to hear a good success story but Seattle Seahawks running back Derrick Coleman has always had to make do with his other senses due to the fact that he’s been legally deaf since the age of three.

To play competitive sports in any capacity without the ability to hear plays or opponents lurking is a serious obstacle in itself but to make it to the top level is absolutely unheard of.

Duracell uses their promotional power to show how Coleman transformed his adversity into a televised advertisement as they champion their battery power for his hearing aid.

The 60 minute spot shows how the Los Angeles native went from being picked on in grammar school to misunderstood in his football practices to eventually dominating his running back position in the NFL.

Seattle is currently in very familiar territory as they prepare to take on their rival, the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship and Coleman is very much part of the squad.

He went undrafted after coming out of UCLA but eventually earned a spot on the Seahawks roster and most recently put his first touchdown under his belt at the end of 2013.

Disabilities are a part of life but so is perseverance. Watch the video below and prepare to be inspired.
