Who’s Martin without “Coretta?” Valentine’s Day is here on top of it being Black History Month, so G.O.O.D. Music’s CyHi The Prynce thought it appropriate to profess his love on a track titled after Civil Rights Leader, Martin Luther King, Jr.’s significant other.

A melodic beat with pulsating drums sets the tone for CyHi’s emotional testimony. “It thought that this was more than a friendship, you worth more than any girl I’ve ever been with/ When you said you wasn’t ready for a new guy, like a baby with his shoes untied, I didn’t trip,” he rhymes wittily.

The Atlanta native has been on top of his game for some time, but he’s now rhyming like a man possessed. Perhaps his time is coming. And if not, we hope CyHi continues to deliver songs like “Coretta” and the grimier “Napoleon.”
