The family of a Brooklyn teen is grieving and searching for answers after the boy was shot twice in the head, causing him to be in jeopardy of losing his right eye.

Gama Droiville was simply said to be standing in the wrong place at the wrong time when gunfire erupted outside Avenue Pizza II located on Flatbush Ave. The 13-year-old was just hanging out moments before the incident occurred.

Reports NYDailyNews:

My boy is dying! My boy is dying!’” Gama’s aunt screamed as Gama was helped into the pizza joint, said its manager, Rufino Salazar, 25.

“He was shot in the right eye,” Salazar added.

Gama was rushed to Kings County Hospital where, despite his aunt’s fears, doctors listed him in serious but stable condition.

Doctors at Kings County Hospital said the eighth-grader was in danger of losing his wounded eye, his family said. Gama’s eye was covered with a bandage that made use of a plastic foam cup.

She said she “shivered” at the sight of her son’s injuries but was heartened by his courage. “He said ‘Mom, God is with me. I can’t die. Don’t worry.’”

Gama was in surgery as of late Monday night.

A 24-year-old man, who police believe was the intended target, was hit once in a leg. He walked to Kings County Hospital, police said.

Police are hoping that the cooperation of the injured victim and clips of the surveillance video lead to an arrest of the shooter.
