The lyrical annotation site, Rap Genius, has just inked a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell and even altered its name in the process.

“Warner/Chappell’s songwriters are unbelievably popular and we will help them connect with their most obsessed fans,” said co-founder Ilan Zechory to Hollywood Reporter. “Warner/Chappell Music goes back more than 200 years — we think this partnership will last at least another 200.”

The digital mavens behind the hub took to their newly renovated page to announce its new title.

“Welcome to Genius.com, the brand-new hub for all the Genius communities (Rap Genius, Rock Genius, Lit Genius, everything),” said the site. “Starting today, ‘Genius’ is the new name of the grand project, born from rap’s rib, to annotate the world.”
