Three heads are better than one, and a stellar 2014 run by Los Angeles’ own YG, DJ Mustard and Ty Dolla $ign proves it. That said, the Pushaz Ink trio close out the year on the cover of The Source magazine.

YG, Mustard, and Ty Dolla have been crowned “Men of the Year” by the iconic publication. Here’s their reasoning:

All year long, YG, Ty Dolla $ign and DJ Mustard joined forces, whether it was on YG’s debut album My Krazy Life, Ty Dolla $ign’s own slew of bangers (“Or Nah”, $ign Language) records (“Or Nah”) or the gazillion hits DJ Mustard produced, not to mention his own album, 10 Summers. They single-handedly changed not just regional radio, but the national sound-scape, all in their first full year in the league.

After much deliberation, debate, argument–and a couple storm-outs–it was decided that for the first time, The Source will have a dual Man and Rookie of the Year–in this case, men and rookies.

Readers can grab a digital copy of The Source via App StoreKindle Fire, and Google Play. Physical copies hit newsstands on Tuesday, December 23.
