The past week of unsolicited press has taken its toll on Afroman’s sanity and he abruptly announced his retirement as a result.

Reports Sun Herald:

The announcement came at the end of a rambling Facebook post Monday that rails at fans, TMZ, Missouri police and fake websites bearing his name. Oh, and he says his accountant has him in hot water with the Internal Revenue Service.

“I’ve been rapping professionally since the year 2000. Early in my career I have had problems with people jumping on stage grabbing the Mics, spilling beer, on equipment and ruining a show,” he wrote in the post. “I had a special clause put in my performance contracts that demands security watch stage and politely discourage anyone from jumping on stage.”

“The CPA I was using at the time didn’t know that and she was counting the transfers as profit deposits,” he posted. “This was money I had in the bank already. To make a long story short she told the IRS I made over $700,000 that year. When it was more like $200,000.”

He said he is still paying the “unfair over Tax.”

“Two divorces didn’t help me none either,” he said.

And he said the celebrity news website TMZ exaggerated the Biloxi punch.

“I DID NOT UNLOAD A DEVISTATING PUNCH,” he posted. “LIKE TMZ LIED AND SAID I DID.

“It was a slap/push. SHE WAS NEVER BLEEDING LIKE TMZ LIED AND SAID SHE WAS !!!!!!

“IT WAS A SLAP/PUSH !!! And she quickly recovered. This situation is still bad however I must clarify its not as bad as lying news publications would have you believe.”

He also says the website Afroman.com is a fake and his real site is ogafroman.com. He said @afromanmusic on Twitter that is a fake and if you want to see the real tweets follow @ogafroman.

You can read Afroman’s struggle-laden rant below. Shouldn’t he be trying to release more music, though?
