Has Young Thug taken his obsession with Lil Wayne too far? Police say the guy who shot up Weezy’s tour bus in April did it to gain street credibility among the Bloods gang in Atlanta, but another report revealed that he’s closely affiliated with Thugger, allegedly.

An arrest warrant for 25-year-old suspect Jimmy Carlton Winfrey of Atlanta was secured on May 21, though he wasn’t arrested. TMZ says Winfrey is actually Thugger’s tour manager (the site has a photo of Thug and Winfrey with blunts and cough syrup in hand, so they must be pretty close).

Winfrey is charged with aggravated assault, terrorist threats and acts, criminal gang activity, possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal gang activity, reckless conduct, and discharging a weapon near the street.

“Said accused did commit said act in order to gain status in his criminal organization by a committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist,” reads the warrant. “Said accused has associated himself with known blood gang members in the Atlanta area.”

Winfrey allegedly caused around $20,000 worth of damage to Wayne’s bus. No one was injured in the shooting.
