DJ Mustard could possibly be a living legend, which may a hard concept to swallow, seeing that he’s only on the second summer of the ten he’s promised us.

At just 25-years-old, the California-born producer made history at the 2015 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards when he became the first artist to win both Producer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year in the same night. That’s not to mention the twelve solo awards he nabbed which even left BMI Icon Award recipient Nile Rodgers in awe.

The accolades came directly after he called out the producers of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” and Jidenna’s “Classic Man” for engaging in legal battles with one another when they couldn’t lay claim to the West Coast sound.

To truly highlight his influence, peep these songs you thought were produced by DJ Mustard but actually don’t hold that distinction.

Adrian Marcel ft. Sage The Gemini – “2 AM”

Producer: Chrishan

If Mustard would have claimed ghostcredit for this jam simply by adding a “Mustard on the beat, hoe” tag, no investigative sound junkie would have batted an eyelash. Meanwhile, Chrishan hasn’t charted a song since.
