Soulja Boy needs to invest some of that money he flaunted on the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood reunion show into a reliable financial advisor.
Buzzfeed News has learned that the colorful rap star wrote an email to Stripe, a major online payment processing company, after he discovered that he was falling victim to a chargeback scam for every one of the trademarked two-wheeled self-balancing scooters or hoverboards as they are commonly referred to, that he sold on his website.
“I need help all the payments are fraud,” Soulja Boy wrote in an email to Stripe. “And it sent my account to negative because they all say they weren’t authorized. please help in any way you can thanks. I don’t want to have to pay all this money because of frauds is there any way to reverse these payments and get my account to Good standing.”
Documents obtained by Buzzfeed News show that as of Dec. 7, Soulja Boy’s Stripe account held a balance of $-174,440.08.
The information didn’t come without a price, however. Buzzfeed News reporter Joe Bernstein reached out to the flashy rapper born Deandre Way and got his phone number leaked onto social media as a direct result.

Struggle aside, the Soulja Boy hoverboards fiasco isn’t totally unique to irresponsible rappers. IO Hawk, the most ubiquitous hoverboard company in the United States, currently holds a negative balance of more than $900,000 with Stripe.
