Historically speaking, Hip-Hop owes LL Cool J a bit of patience as he continues to search for a sound that sonically suits him in 2013. After two attempts, one of which was horrible, the legendary MC opts for another high energy track, aptly titled “We Came To Party,” featuring Fatman Scoop and Snoop Dogg.

LL raps with a controlled  aggression on the synth heavy beat, which implies that he may have found a new spark. Snoop, on the other hand, evens out the playing field with his patented smooth flow. As per usual, Fatman Scoop livens things up on the chorus.

At this point, it’s difficult to hear what direction the Queens rapper will go in on his new album, Authentic. So far Cool James is on a roll with his most recent drops, with the clear winner being the Joe-assisted “Take It.” We’ll let you be the judge on this one. Listen to “We Came To Party” below, and let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
