What’s in Chicago’s water? The “Windy City” has churned out numerous talents in the last year — the most known and prolific being Chief Keef. The spotlight has shifted to the city’s more conscious lyricists recently, though.  Among this class of MCs is an artist named Alex Wiley, who delivered a mixtape called Club Wiley earlier this week.

“Spaceship II” is a standout on the track on the project, and features another Chi-Town native you may be familiar with, Chance The Rapper.

The song is inspired by Kanye West’s College Dropout classic “Spaceship,” but it’s much more aggressive than its muse.

Wiley borrows Yeezy’s infamous line “If my manager insults me again, I will be assaulting him /After I f**k the manager up then I’m gonna shorten the register up,” on the chorus. Former G.O.O.D. Music artist GLC adds a nice touch to the soulful song with a few of his player proverbs.

If you enjoy what you hear, we suggest that you check out Club Wiley. The tape also dons appearances by production by The Hood Internet, Freddie Gibbs, Action Bronson, Jean Deaux, Vic Mensa, and more on the rap and production tip.
